Red Dead Redemption 2 (PS4, Xbox and PC Hopefully)

Exactly my concern. I do have a ps4 pro, I find 30fps unbearable so buy games that have 60fps options like The Last Of Us, GT Sport etc.

I'm hoping there is an option to run lower res 60fps in the options. If not, then I might just have to give it a miss.

To be honest, adjusting to 30fps doesn't take long. Yes it doesn't feel as 'smooth' but its certainly playable.

Just a tip : if after you finish one of the big gun fights, you see a gun icon on the minimap, always check it out. I picked up a rare version of the first sniper rifle you acquire, can’t remember its name. I think the stats are higher, plus it has engravings all over it. Looks awesome

That is the Rare Rolling Block Rifle. You can only get this once as it is dropped by that NPC in the barn and disappears after.

You can't please some people I guess. If it did it automatically for you, you'd say the game was too simple.

This.

I'm thoroughly enjoying the Horse Riding Cowboy Simulator-esq game this is and I'm normally frustrated by long walks/travelling between here and there kind of games with nothing in between. There is certainly enough going on inbetween be it greeting random strangers, being held up by O'Driscoll's or Raiders and general other random encounters with little things taking you off on a tangent that could help reward you later on. This aspect is definitely "Horses for Courses" excusing that obvious pun is obvious but I really like it 50+ hours in and still no where near bored and only just started on Chapter 3!

I found him shouting his head off in Blackwater the other day. I'm still yet to find his friend.

I think it's an easter egg that we need to find out personally. Just like the vampire doing the rounds in Saint Denis.

Wouldn't surprise me if it's a R* internal gag with an employee called Gavin going AWOL or some messy staff night out and a colleague was shouting "Where's GAVIN?!" in an intoxicated state.

I'm getting really fed up with some of the glitches / bugs in this game. So far lost my pimped out Schofield, Pump action and Lancaster, they just disappeared out the inventory. Not to mention the infuriating weapon selection system whilst on your horse, find yourself stuck in a gunfight as all your weapons have been stowed away on the horse.

Enjoying it overall though, just some really irritating issues pop up every now and then.

Hearing you about the Schofield. Mine magically disappeared after stealing it from the place you can early in the game. Wasn't too bothered though, as I now have a nice Double Action Revolver which wipes the floor with it IMO.

I roll, Double Action w/Sawn Off in off hand, Lancaster Repeater and Bolt Action - good setup with coverage across the ranges. Swapping out the Bolt Action for the Rolling Block w/Long Scope for big game hunting as not sure the Bolt Action has the 1 hit power to bring down a 3* animal. Perhaps someone can confirm this can be done? Might need express ammo.

Have you guys seen the big stink over the suffragette killing videos?

Lol, feminists on twitter saying it’s an act of hate. They’ll want people arrested for it soon!

Hardly groundbreaking killing woman in video games.

Always used to in GTA to get my money back with previous protagonists after paying for services.... wasn't an issue then so why should it be now?:rolleyes:

It’s the rise of feminism and #metoo. GTA would have been slaughtered by the media if it was released today.

Well I'm very offended and triggered that I get to play as a Kassandra in AC: Odyssey and Lara Croft in Tomb Raider and kill countless men mercilessly.

Is there no end to the sexism argument. This should not apply to video games or any other 'Art' - period.

Don't see the same being spoken of paintings with woman being killed or books with females being willingly abused (50 Shades comes to mind).

Feminism seems jump on anything that's even remotely in the spotlight.

There's a limited fast travel option if you upgrade Arthur's lodgings.

Only works one way though from the camp to destination. You can't return from the destination to camp unless you stagecoach/train/horse ride.

A bit of a meh implementation so I've not bothered with it. I always ride to the destination as its never normally longer than a 5 mins ride and a lot can happen in that 5 mins!

I saw some random guys robbing a train last night, they had no law after them when they finished but as soon as you do it they are everywhere. Is it a little annoying I can agree with you.

Had this riding past Rhodes. Load of O'Driscoll's raiding a train. Needless to say they got some deadeye treatment and much to my surprise they hadn't looted the train yet and I rode off with some tasty free loot!

Yeah it's a shame the law don't turn up when NPCs are doing bad stuff

No law alarmed while I was helping myself to some free loot :D

I know exactly which house you mean only when I went there it was empty. I started robbing it then bam father and son magically appear having an argument in the kitchen mid robbery :p

Father chased me out and I did a runner, didn't want the negative honour for popping him. :(

Clue - money is in the chimney.... or there is a box in the son's room...

The story is very engrossing it hits the emotions of the characters hard.

The part in Chapter 4 where the O'Driscolls send Kieran's body back with his head held on his horse and the ensuing shootout was epic and right in the feels especially after going fishing with him and you realise he was just a kid caught up in the wrong crowd with the O'Driscolls

Has anyone got any hints/tips of how to catch the Legendary Longnose Gar near Largas? I can hook it but I just cannot land it. I just can’t seem to reel it in fast enough. Get it in to the side a little bit and then it starts struggling and takes more line and ends up farther out. If I put resistance on the line I snap it :(

There is a short video on IGN making the male and female characters each. They ran through each of the sliders and AT BEST, you look like a middle age homeless drug addict. Granted I don't expect people in that era to look well kept as the Beckhams but man, they had soap and scissors didn't they?

Considering you can make Arthur look like Antonio Banderas's older cousin (minus the tan) you'd have thought R* would've made the character creation for the online element a little more upmarket but, I guess it keeps in with the Wild West Lore as you are effectively a no-body/hillbilly at the start of the online so your appearance isn't likely to be warranting the finest Saint Denis suit or barber grade haircut...
