Red Dead Redemption 2

Mines running o.k after the patch, lots of graphix were reset set on low so put them mostly back to Ultra. Only problem so far is the map as already mentioned above, I cannot put a marker where I want and it keeps jumping somewhere else

I also still get the trees shaking and jerking in some areas as before, anyone else seeing this?

Yeah they remind me of Witcher 3 trees.

I used to get the shaking jerking trees all the time in Ghost Recon Wildlands and Breakpoint. Realistic tree/grass movement seems to be one of those things that games really struggle with, even after all these advances in graphics and physics over the years (bit like hair and lip syncing too)

A youtuber went through all the settings and figured out which hit performance the worse. Here is the final config for best performance/quality.

Map is working fine for me, can hold left click to move the map and double click to place marker.

Yeah seems to be a double click. cheers

OK what I would do now is delete your profile, (save your existing one as it has your save games just in case.

Allow RDR2 to rebuild your profile. This will not contain your save games and you will start again unless you have cloud save on.

Once that has done its thing, change your setting to see if they stick.

If they do, then it is your old profile that is corrupted.

You can however copy over your save games if your cloud save did not work.

Was going to say if you were, you need to turn Vsync off (within the game). :)

Ahhh ok, nah its a 4k tv. I thought I had a setting wrong :) but if anyone is playing on a oc 1070ti at 1080 with better settings please let me know :) 1440 is no good as the 1070 just can't handle it at decent frames on this game.

Using the optimised settings as above, my bench results gave me an average of 50fps which is perfect for this game. Lowest was 41.
I do have a Gsync monitor though..

Running much better for me since the patch. No issues with Gsync and Vulcan.. seems smoother but that coz gsync working now I guess and no crashes to desktop either!

Still getting freezes, not as long but its still happening another odd thing is that on the introduction screen the "Z" for changing settings is greyed out but I can change them in the game

Try flipping to online, then back to story from within the intro screen. So E then Q, it should then ungrey itself.

Just wait 5-10 seconds and it will come back to a normal clickable "Z", I had the same.
