Red Dead Redemption 2

So, I've decided to have another go at online play using a character I made quite a while ago.

Looks like he's had a hard life and noticed I've a free Change of Appearance but I cannot figure out how to do it.

Everything online says to into Free Play > options > Online settings > change appearance but I just don't have an online settings choice. I've online, which brings up free play and the other types of play but thats it. Any advice?

Solved it: Press and hold L for other options

Hi all, I have spent hundreds of hours playing SP on the PS4 Pro back in the day from v1 onwards. Never had any issues whatsoever.

I’ve had this on the pc for a few days as I wanted a relaxing game to play for a bit. Chapter 1 was flawless without issues however in chapter 2, I’ve had a number of CTD’s or ingame lockups that would lead to a CTD around St Denis just last night.

This seems to be a rather crashy game (hardly surprise given its a Rockstar title) on my somewhat dated machine which manages everything else just fine.

Looking online just revealed I am not alone and as usual folks trying all sorts to fix their crashing issues. All I can do is switch to Vulkan and see if that helps later tonight.

Vulkan seems to be the pick for 99% of RDR2 players. I haven't had any issues with the game except when I was messing with the DLSS dll.

Ended up putting in a refund as Vulkan does the exact same. Just random CTD's no matter what I tried. Longest playtime was just now where I managed 1hr 10mins, then I went into the Valentine Gunsmith and bang - straight to desktop. Sod that, i'll leave my good PS4 Pro memories of the game intact.

sorry, but it has to be said 99% of game crashes are due to instable pcs and bad OC's. Nvidia did have some CTD issues on older drivers but has been fixed on newest drivers rest is down to you

Whilst I'd agree to an extent, I know a dodge game when I see one. The last game to not work on this machine right was BF4 and that was a mess in itself. The fact that searches for RDR2 Crashes brings up a plethora of results kinda says it all. I've been around long enough to know that it isn't the PC - I've been running it the same way since 2011 and it's been solid on everything bar 2 titles now.

Updated the GPU driver last night. Didn't help at all just like I expected.

Haven't had any issues with the game that I didn't cause myself - actually running it with DLDSR and still runs fine. I did see a lot of posts during the initial release about problems, which were resolved, so might just be an issue on older hardware.

And upgrade your PC lol
Better off getting a PS5 at this rate given GPU prices - I'd get more out of it really. Looking at GPU's this morning on OCUK I think I might as well stick with this rig for a good while longer...until the next GTA comes out, which is what normally makes me upgrade. So another 10yrs...

The Steam reply actually stated this has been a common refund request?
Strangely yes. First time I've seen this, which could explain why they refunded it to me 10mins after submitting a request.
