Red Dead Redemption 2

Dunno, the game never crashed for me, Days Gone is also less demanding and worse looking than this, played both.

Can't really compare stuff like Valhalla or Days Gone where sensible AI or any sort of realism is virtually non-existent. RDR2 has more advanced animal behaviour alone than anything in both of those games.

Plus, old CPUs definitely become more unstable when OC'd due to stuff like electromigration and that can lead to crashing in games. It's exactly as Ayahuasca says, can happen in just one game and pass every stress test.

I've had overclocks in the past that would pass every stress test and benchmark but then crash in just one title, and dialling it back or bumping the voltage resolved it.

Yea, this is very common. The undervolt profile on my 3080 will work fine on 99% of games but give issues on 1 or 2 specific titles.

Wtf is a horse revival and how do I do it?

How do I fast travel?

This game is pretty crap anyway so who cares if it crashes to the desktop? The opening hour was good you just get dumped in town with no explanation of the games mechanics or who anyone is and why I should care

Wow such snobbery last few posts, a Sandybridge i7 2600k and 16gb of ram will run RDR2 perfectly fine.
Agree entirely, RDR2 runs a lot better on my old 2600k media machine than it does on my main rig which has a 4790K which is a fair bit newer.

The 2600k is a far more capable CPU than any 11 year old chip has any right to be.

I think you'll find this game far too challenging judging by your post.

It can be a bit overwhelimg I agree. The build up to release of PS4... I was SO hyper.

What I do a lot of is hunting and fishing and trying the complete the animal compendium (sp?) That can take a long time, as well as the all the collectibles. Luckily I bought the RDR2 guide book for that :D

I love RDR2, I got about as far as Chapter 4 too if I recall. In a way I stopped playing half way through so I could pick again on slightly faster hardware than what I had at the time (5700 XT) and also as I don't really want it to come to an end. I think its the best game Rockstar have ever made since Lemmings or Hired Guns ;) Sure it has a few issues, scripted missions, annoying characters and TAA omgAA more like etc.

I love the way you can pretty much go anywhere on the map and explore, its just a really well made sandbox world with mud effects! I found a creepy house at night that must be part of a side mission, scared me :)

Finally have the hardware to give this game some justice so think time to pick it up this weekend.

I see that Steam have it on sale for £27.49 and I have a £5 credit on there from selling some skin years ago, although have the usual question if Ultimate Edition adds much to the singleplayer experience? Doubt I'll be touching the multiplayer.

I'll counter that with I really enjoyed the SP (all but 1 chapter) and loved the slower pace and side quests, hunting, fishing, games etc

The world is one of the best ever to explore and lose time in.

27 quid for a game that came out years ago? Wow.

Dont bother sp is too long Linear and boring

I’ll counter with,

One of my all time favs’ worth every penny at £27. In hind sight I’d pay £100. Can very easily pay £30 for something I’ll play for 30 hours, both me and the wife sank in 200 hours.
