Mixture again mate so it can't be pinpointed.
This is always a problem with a PC version, just think how many different variables there must be among the millions of PC's currently running this game worldwide. There can never be a one fix for all on games of this magnitude.
I can understand their frustration but seeing some people calling the game a load of junk is just not on
because save wizard works on the PS4.......

Not on? The game is junk end of story. I am playing it and it is junk. Tbh I didn't expect anything else after the little effort Rockstar made of GTAV online, never again will these muppets get my money.
I'm running at 2560x1440 with a gsync monitor, I am running Windows 7 I don't know if thats anything to do with it.
I have tried graphic settings on Vulcan and DX12 even though I have DX11, it doesn't seem to make any difference though
I have 3 rigs and have updated all the bios on all 3 amd rigs. Updated the Nvidia drivers and disabled avast.
They are all able to launch the game and play it.
2 of them have HDR as well.
Of course it's just for the slider I believe

I managed to play the game at max of 30fps on PS4 last year and it remains one of the best gaming experiences I have had to date.
Not playable is a bit over the top, unacceptable considering the specs some of you guys have though.. perhaps.

I don't play on consoles mate, completely unplayable for me. My kids have consoles, they are fine for kids but even at 9 and 10 they can see how crap consoles are. Built them both their own PC's now and they won't even look at the kiddy consoles any longer. 60FPS minimum or any game is unplayable in my opinion.

GGnot that it will help anyone but im currently running it on a 2600x oc to 4.3 and a 2070 super using the latest version of windows 10 pro with no issues at all. running most setttings on high at 2560x1440 im averaging 68fps in the benchmark and rarely drops below 60 in game.
I'd have to say that I partially agree and partially disagree, a matter of semantics maybe but my opinion of the game is that the game itself is absolutely superb, great story, stunning visuals, enjoyable gameplay. So from that aspect, in terms of what the game itself is like, its way away from being junk. However, the flipside of that is that the technical problems being encountered by so many people is indeed very much junk. I have no issues at all with the game itself its a truly fine game but I do have issues , on others behalf, with the technical problems which are blighting so many people

I've had this debate loads of times ! RPG games like this don't need a solid 60 FPS to be enjoyable & run smooth - By all means if you play online then Bump the settings down so you get 60 FPS
Its more about the Eye candy and the experience for me.
I just used the hot uk deals vpn trick.
It worked using free VPN plugin in chrome. £28

30fps with a controller isn’t ideal but it isn’t unplayable and it still looks a whole lot better on the consoles in 4k than any setting combination at 1080p/1440p.
I have mine at 4k 60hz on tv and it looks fantastic.
I’ve tried at 1440p on my monitor and while smoother it doesn’t quite have the same atmosphere as it does on the OLED with hdr.

I’ve decided not to update my bios. I could just be causing myself more problems for no reason.
I will wait until rockstar fix the launcher issue. I will send a ticket today asking about my refund status if they decide they can’t fix the issue.
Might have a better experience waiting a couple of weeks or so anyway. I can see lots of updates over the next few days/weeks/months.
I’ve got Planet Zoo to be getting on with. Frontier could teach Rockstar a lesson on stable releases, it’s brilliant.

Updating the BIOS made no difference for me, I doubt ill be seeing a 1.0.0.4 BIOS anytime soon given MSI are painfully slow to update the x470 range.
If it was indeed BIOS related it would be the most ridiculous issue in gaming history. What's next, minimum spec will be a specific motherboard? A specific tower? A specific set of speakers?
