Red Dead Redemption Thread

Yeah, you only need to win once to move that story along.

Liar's dice is also called Perudo (and various other names), I played it a lot when out in Peru and it's actually a really fun game. The problem with the version in RDR is that lying gets you nowhere as the CPU calls your bluff each time, it should be called Honest man's dice!

Perudo is a fun game. The difference between the version of Perudo that I've played and Liar Dice is that in Perudo 1s are wild. It makes the game more interesting. :)

Trying to break all of the horses is a real chore unless you're lucky with spawns! I searched for over an hour for the American Standardbred on the Great Plains and all over the rest of West Elizabeth and couldn't find any. Then I headed to Mexico and a Hungarian Half-Bred spawned right ahead of me within minutes, which I promptly broke, fed an apple to and am now quite happily tearing around on. :D

man up, real cowboys don't use auto aim :p (although I did turn it back on for the missions involving shooting on horseback, practically impossible on expert!)

What frame rates are you guys getting? When I'm in a town I'd say I get about 20-25FPS, wondering if this is normal or could it be my console? In general it doesn't seem like the game runs very smooth. (Xbox 360)

I would say it was around 23-30fps with it hanging around 30fps most of the time.

Do you have it installed to the hard drive?

Holding down on the analogue stick and as soon as the text "Draw" appears I flick the stick up and tap R1 to mark the target then keep tapping R2 to fire, although 7/10 times I end up dead. :(
i dont use r1. infact i dont even think you can do in the later stages. will have to check the next time

just did a duel around an hour ago and did notice them trying to dodge but just followed them using the right thumbstick

my method is basically. hold stick down. flick it up when 'draw' appears. aim it over head and repeatedly tap r2 , follow them with right thumb whilst they duck/move.

We all have the same hardware so it'll all be the same performance. :/

I think I was trying the "exact guess" option too much. I will stick to calling bluffs aka "LIAR"!!.

Correct me if I am wrong, I am playing the game for the 1st time in Thieve's Landing, and was instructed to go there by some guy in the movie place in Armidillo. Do I have to win once at this game to continue? (There is a "?" icon next to the Dice table).

The way I got the trophy was just don't lie about what die you have. The exact guess is needed when the CPU is down to 1 die as they always call the die they have.

If you think this is a chore, wait to you get to rank 10 survivalist.
