Red Dead Redemption Thread

as "manchesterjim" on Quidco has pointed out
wouldnt necessarily say it would make the game an 'easy ride' at all;

Golden guns = more fame = more side missions quicker.

War Horse = Best horse in the game - Whilst this will give you an advantage I cant see it affecting your progression through the game too much. Dont reckon it will be much different from having a faster car in gta (gets you around quicker but doesnt necessarily make things easier).

Faster dead-eye regeneration - This is perhaps the only thing that will make the game much easier, but that depends on just how much faster it recharges. At any rate, dead-eye is an ability that you trigger yourself so you dont have to spam it.

I did think of getting the LE but if its like BC2 as soon as ive unlocked everything i get bored, so id rather have to gain those items from playing the game than have them unlocked at the beginning, should make it last longer.

True, however, AFAIK 2 of the items are exclusive to the special edition's (I know that the horse at least is very hard to come by). Nontheless, i usualy need all the help I can get in games :p
The main reason Im getting the standard edition - gonna spend most of my time looking for that bleeding horse.

Virtual sugar cubes anyone?

ps3ud0

I don't think i'd want the unlockables. Half the fun will be startng on a crappy donkey and working your way through new rides. With the war horse it sounds like you start with the best mount from the get go. The same for the guns and outfit - it's no fun if you're just given these things.

Exactly what I thought. All the fun comes from unlocking and upgrading. Having them all at the start removes some of the enjoyment. You can understand why they're doing it, but it'd have been much better if they gave away items which wouldn't have an effect on your abilities within the game.

Only seen the free roam trailer so far, but I presume you can get your friends in your posse and roam the West doing NPC missions together and maybe take on other player posses? Is everyone in the same world ala MMORPG games?

Max of 16 in one 'world', so 8 v 8 posses. I wonder if you can do a 3 way split though i.e. 5v5v5 ... who knows. Maybe an extra feature along the line.

Looking forward to this :D

Just been checking out all of the videos of gametrailers. This is one game i will be getting for sure. Looks really bloody good.

The 'Outlaws To The End' pack will be released in June and adds "an entirely new dimension to Red Dead Redemption's game play," according to Rockstar.

The pack features six new multiplayer missions for 2-4 players, plus new Achievements and Trophies. The modes include (in Rockstar's words):

"Walton's Gold"
Walton's Gang have taken control of a mining camp rich with gold. Fight through the camp and load your mine cart with as much gold as you can carry and get out as fast as you can - Walton's boys have rigged the place to blow.

"The River"
Ride a raft down river, taking out rebel encampments along the way until you reach the rebel stronghold of Nosalida and a final epic battle for the town's massive weapons caches. Watch out for Gatling gun-equipped enemy rafts.

"Ammunition"
The Mexican Army has the town of Tesoro Azul under siege. Storm the gates under heavy cannon, Gatling gun and sniper fire to destroy the Mexican artillery placements.

Sam Houser said of the DLC: "Multiplayer in Red Dead Redemption offers players a whole new way to encounter the massive open world we've created, but we felt the experience would not be complete without co-op game play.

"With these missions, we wanted to create new ways for players to share in the experience of engaging with this amazing landscape."

I wasn't up for this to begin with, but after watching some videos on game trailers I just cannot wait. Nice to have something a bit different, at the moment it looks like it has been well made.....................we shall see though.
