I want to buy the 8086@5Ghz bundle but it has been along time since I have done any overclocking. Am I correct in saying the cores are all already overclocked to 5Ghz and all I need to do is flash the Bios first and use a profile to clock the RAM?

Down clock if you have windows power plan set at balance.... But who actually cares about this?? 5g desk top is essential..

The cpu at stock is only single core turbo 5g so the profile sets all cores, cache, power limits, ram, io, sa, standby all that stuff too.

Some cpu IMC can't do 4000mhz on 4 dimm board hence the other profiles.

7600k is what I'm upgrading from. As I've already bought the bundle.
Cannot wait to get this chip installed and in my custom loop. But I'm away on holiday so won't get to touch it for at least 5 days after it gets delivered. :(

Then it's time to play around in bios and the fun with benchmarking and blue screens can begin. :p
Is it wierd I prefer benching to gaming? :eek:

Fractal Design Define C TG has glowing reviews - possibly the best case of 2017?

White theme as it matches my current GPU, fans included in the case and RGB on the motherboard. My SSD's will be hidden in the rear, so the only white braided cables i'll need are motherboard + CPU + GPU - Phanteks kit looks perfect?

Bitfenix white LED strip to brighten the case up :)

Just received the Intel bundle this morning. The cooler has thermal paste pre-applied so since it included the thermal grizzly stuff I guess it would make sense to remove the stuff already on? And would you recommend spreading it like the packet says or just using the pea/line method?
