Thanx, tried this and it work's for me, I could run the game at higher settings, used more of my gpu and got better fps, still not using more than 50% of gpu, but its a start. Although like you there were only a few people on server so will have to wait and see.

Yeah this fix has helped a lot of people. I will give it a try tonight on a bigger server, but fingers crossed it will be ok. Since deleting the .ini, my FPS jumped from between 20-40FPS to between 30-65FPS most of the time. Settings are all on high apart form shadows and AA on low, motion blur off, light shafts on. Still looks great.

I put them back to what they were before I deleted and fps is the same.

Did you guys change the settings back or are you using the default settings?

I deleted the .ini and my settings remained on high. But the FPS was better. I heard that it was possibly that the .ini hadn't been updated from the beta properly, so it contained redundant code which might have been causing the slow down. Not really sure why it works tbh.
 
Starting to get reports that the issue may be related to the sound software used within the game..

I suspect there's a memory leak in the audio driver, since my performance is fine for the first 15 mins, and the audio starts to lag and stutter and FPS goes to hell. It's been a bit better the last couple of days though.

Yeah, the sound recordings and design is simply top-notch but unfortunately its currently all getting destroyed by the crap audio API.

Even the other aspects of the game (performance) are suffering from it.

Unfortunately Xaudio2 is not only a total crap fest as I pointed out earlier, it's also a production pipline, sound manager and renderer. It would probably come at enormous cost for TWI to port all that XNA is doing to OpenAL...

I support this, while the sound design is great, it is hampered by a lot of stuttering and hangs by the Xaudio drivers.
 
Just had another go on OCUK server and game played terribly, 30 fps but only using 20-20% of my gpu.
Think the boost I got from deleting the ROgame.exe was a fluke and it was because OCUK server was quiet when I tried at dinnertime only 12 people on, server was full just now :(:confused:
Still love the game though, just wish it would play like it did earlier, game was smooth, hit reg was great :)
 
Cheat on the server?, Knightstalker, 96 kills... Shooting people 500 meters and through smoke too

Can someone check, don't like to accuse people :(

Even if that is legit kills, its gay tbh

Obviously raping spawn, or at least a spawn route to something. Tanks need to be removed as they are silly imo, if you dont have any other vehicle available.

Dont know, just dosent seem right having someone be able to kill a team once over and then half again from a tank. Its not as if the anti tank options are that great, not like modern warfare.... they should at least offer PAK AT guns at spawn or something so that they can cover any tank rape.. even if they are not mobile.
 
They really should get rid of ai for tanks and have the old RO system for it. Was so much better, the tank crewman class is useless 90% of the time since tank commanders lock their tanks and crewman cant be used.
