Red Orchestra (2) : Heroes of Stalingrad

Hitreg is still a little off at close range only, no problems long distance.. Guy comes at me, front on at guns length I get the first shot nothing. He shoots me I die

You do know it's proper ballistics (rifle 0'd to 100m) rather than bullet drop so at close range if you aim for the top of the head the bullet can actually go above and miss.

There are some weird reg issues for sure, I 've had a few WTF moments where there was no way I'd miss but it seemed they were made of Kevlar :(

I didn't aim for the head , there was no way even with bullet drop to miss

Fair enough. Just seen a few "OMG I headshotted him at 2m and he didn't die" posts around and wanted to make sure it wasn't the ballistics causing problems :)

Had about 50 minutes on the OCUK server today which in general I enjoyed. The map was just changing to Pavlovs house when I joined and there were about 25-30 players. It was a good game and although I'm not a prolific 'killer' at the end I was near the top of the scoreboard for the Germans with a decent team score.

The map then changed to Station and there was suddenly a full server of 64 players, some using VOIP. After about 5 minutes I'm starting to suspect one or more people using hacks, aimbots whatever. After 10 minutes I'm certain there is cheating in the game. I was headshot through brickwalls several times in roughly the same area, and yes, I'm certain no one could have killed me legitimately from where I was. I was also killed 3 or 4 times within 2 seconds of spawning but this possibly could be a flaw in the map or a very sneaky Russki.

BTW, I'm not singling out the OCUK server, this is just a 'heads-up' for the admin and fellow players if they are not already aware. If they are then this is a +1 post! It's happened on several other servers I've been on also with other players backing me up regarding the presence of cheats.

I'm new to RO2 and FPS's in general and this game has me gripped pretty hard. I'm really hoping that the prolific amount of cheating that seems to be happening at the moment is a fad, or something better can be done server/admin wise to prevent it happening so often as I'm seeing it more and more just lately. I'm all for stamping these idiots out of the game

Re the patch:- I'm one of the ones who thinks the game looked and performed better during beta

If you suspect anything, either post in the forum or just post a heads up in the ingame chat.

Failing that, message me on Steam, Gimpymoo.

To say you are new to the game and then immediately shout "Hax" is a little odd. The game at times is VERY unforgiving and brutal around players who are better and know the maps inside out.

Yes, Hacks are around but not as common as people would make you believe.

Just had a great game on the OcUK server for an hour or so. Really good fun, my only gripe would be that it isn't hardcore realism.

One thing I noticed...due to the stats still being crazy, I had upgraded rifle skill. Not only was I faster working the bolt, but when reloading, it was the animation that it used to be in ROOST - put the bullets in the magazine and instead of removing the stripper clip, just slam the bolt forward so it falls out. Love little details like that :D

Bapland, nice work with the artillery. Like I said, it was nice to see a commander actually hanging back and coordinating :)

What are peoples thoughts on the countdown mode?

Everytime I play it theres people whinging that they dont like it, I personally dont care for it, but I also never play s&d on call of duty.

It's not too bad on smaller servers, but overall I dont like it. I play the game for the feeling of taking part in a battle; countdown feels like an arena to me, like playing CSS again.

Whatever floats your boat I guess. i hate it especially when i get killed early on playing a big server and have to sit and wait for ages.

That was my first go at Commander, done the same on the second map and won with ease.

It's good if you have decent Squad Leaders who can give decent targets, if not you end up having to do the leg work yourself, enjoyable though!

Odd! Why? I did post a couple of messages during in-game chat which were totally ignored.

Whilst I am new(ish) to the game I'm too old at 52 years of age to whine about being pwned by players who are clearly better and more experienced than me. I understand that some of these guys have almost superhuman eyesight and reflexes when playing FPS's. However, I'm 99.9% sure that there were one or more players with X-ray eyes and the ability to headshot through walls during my time on the OCUK server today.

I beg to differ with you regarding the amount of cheats doing the rounds. I think that there are pretty serious problems at the moment, enough to cause the various anti-cheat software devs to have got their heads together to try and tackle the problem. I'd say the OCUK server may be a meaty target for these morons as they'd sooner target a server without PB than with it. I understand your reasons for not using it at the moment though.

I posted today to make people aware that in my opinion there were cheats present on the OCUK server today. I may be right, I may be wrong. There are problems with the state of the game at present but I have to say my concerns lie more with the state of the community at the moment.

I hope these idiots move along quickly because once the game is optimised and the more annoying bugs are squashed it will be a classic in my opinion.

Cheers.

Yeah I hate Countdown, absolute tripe of a mode... it dosent flow, the change over happens so quick that you barely catch your breath as to whats going on.. and then in the end you watch as 3 or 4 player sit in the corner winding down the clock as no one wants to move.
