Red Orchestra (2) : Heroes of Stalingrad

so in otherf words you want this game to be dumbed down then later you and others bitch and moan saying "OMFG another console dumbed down fps GAME!!!

LOL.

Where the hell did I say I wanted it dumbed down. I mentioned the steepness of the learning curve but it was aimed at new players, which is what Tripwire will want to entice. I'm happy with RO, but if Tripwire wish to enlarge their user base then I'm sure they'll make it more user-friendly which from all reports/videos they've done.

Got to love how people take things out of context & get it all wrong. :p

Suddenly, I'm more excited about this game than I am for BF3. I'm a big fan of the original RO and I'm slightly taken aback by quite how many new features are present.

I mean... 64 players, destructible buildings (and I'm guessing large maps), first person cover, co-op (skirmish mode and campaign), free dlc, and all of ROs original features! That's a package and a half.

Darn it! they had to release the game close to BF3 release date, still this is must buy looks like my PS3 will be out of action for while :)

Standard version for me. As long as I have a rifle! Bit wary of the kill/death ratios. Doesn't seem like the RO doctrine of team work although I'm sure that will be rewarded too and possibly more so. I'm sure they know what they're doing anyway.

The idea of iron sight zooming is more akin to modern shooters too. The fact it didn't do that in RO was part of the appeal for me. I preferred shooting little pixels from a distance with my rifle. Seemed more rewarding with no magical zoom. :D

I personally think this is a good idea, it does the same on ARMA 2, it is to compensate for it being in a game, as when you look down an iron sight in real life you can get a pretty good view.
