Red Orchestra (2) : Heroes of Stalingrad

Being a VO Vet who played ro1 from steam launch to pretty much before RO2 launch I gotta say this game is really fun, for the price of the game its definitely the moneys worth. The recent patch screwed up the weapon balance though, I really hope they limit the special weapons as they should have been.

The game is quite buggy but fortunately its Tripwire, lots of patches and free content updates, we got Rising Storm which is set in the pacific to look forward to too.

A required update for Red Orchestra 2 has just been released. Servers must update to maintain compatibility with clients. To recap what is included in this update:

Update includes:

- fixing the day 1 unlocks not working (Note: there still appears to be some cases where unlocks do not appear, but the major reason for them not working has been fixed. We’ll continue working on the other issues with the unlocks and get that out asap).
- Improved framerate to reduce hitching/dropping when artillery explodes
- spawn menu looping bug fixed
- various crash fixes
- decreased AI MG accuracy for vehicle AI
- Added a system so outdated servers should no longer show in the server browser (so make sure and update so people can find your servers)

Looks like we have our deluxe edition weapons now?

I came on last night and had a few good games, got a few kills which was good. Got some really cool kills too, also died loads from people I didn't see. Someone was really helpful too on the OcUK server answering all my questions, I can't remember for the life of me who it was :(

I'm really liking the game, but it's no different from the beta really, except that all the maps are available.

One thing I have noticed is that if I up my graphics from medium/high to ultra, I don't really get much of a performance decrease, even tho that means running AA on high. This doesn't really make sense?

Yeah there still seems to be perf issues, not that I've tried the newest patch but before i would get the same fps with everything at the lowest or med/high, but generally around 40-50 so no real problem.

I think the hitreg could do with a little more tweaking, guy was in front of me on the same floor level looking out the window. I aimed my weapon at his face from a side on position, Fired, nothing I Fired again and he looked at me. He fired at me, nothing happened and I fired at him and nothing. He then shot me and I died with a fatal wound. Same again, Guy runs up the stairs, I shoot him with my machine gun I plastered him with bullets as he run up the stairs. No damage, one shot I'm dead. Also saw the same happening to a number of other players while I was watching as a spectator.

Before anyone says Aim better, I'm usually a top end player so I don't exactly have a poor aim!

The way you explained this is exactly what I experienced last night. Fired two shots at someones head. They were unaware of me being there at the time, so I had all the time in the world to line up the shots. He turns around and shoots me in the nuts. I thought at the time maybe it was to do with the terrain being bigger than the graphics, so I was actually hitting an invisble wall?

I find the hit reg is pretty good! Altho ping seems to play a big part in it.

80% of the time it is yes, but it's like you are hitting an invisble wall!. Guy was laying in a ditch, I aimed my sites at him and fired.. The shots bounced off his stomach and chest area, they did no damage. For anyone that says Aim Better, there are shots you just cannot miss
