Red Snapper Tripods have an offer on

I've had my Redsnapper for about 6 months now and I love it, very sturdy, relatively lightweight and covers all the heights I'm ever going to need, not bad for £57 including the 3 way head and delivery. When my Uncle had a play with mine he wanted one himself so ordered a second, at the same time I also ordered the mini studio; I had some issues with the studio about 4 months down the line and when I contacted Redsnapper they told me to return it, quickly refunding me for the studio and the return postage costs, couldn't recommend more after that, excellent products and customer service!

@mrk: Looking at getting a new ball head as mine is a bit limiting (anyone still stuck with a 3 way, do yourself a favour and get a ball head!), does the Redsnapper one have good panning? It's about the only thing I lack with my current Slik ball head.

As in its smoothness and ability to pan smooth from start to stop and fast to slow if needed?

I've done a quick video as I think words can describe it but you are better off seeing it on video :) Also, it appears my video is the only one on Youtube of a Red Snapper Tripod, in a sad way it's quite a weird feeling and deserved of a "FIRST!" :p

Can someone recommend one of these tripods + a head for a nikon D5100? If so which one? (baring in mind I wanna keep the costs down)

Great vid review there mrk, seriously considering one of these to replace my Red Snapper 3 way head. Also impressed with the video quality of the Samsung Galaxy S II.

284 and RSH61 ball head?

Comes to <£88 inc del. I think that's a killer bargain considering what you're getting for that monies! The tripod will take 8KG in load and head 5KG so several times more than your D5100+battery+lens so no worries there :)

Thanks! Both look superb and vastly higher quality than what I've been looking at elsewhere. Ordered both :)

Any idea what their delivery service is like in terms of how quick they dispatch and what method they use? Guessing its some sort of next day delivery due to the £8 P&P?

Post your thoughts when they arrive! It's next day yeah. Both times I ordered with them they came next day :)

That's pretty awesome actually, I'll definitely invest in one when I return, there's no way my current head will hold my new lens and the panning is something I do need :p

Seriously looking forward to hopefully having my tripod delivered tomorrow. Got some fancy bird seed for the feeders in our garden and keep attracting tonnes of different species of birds to it. Should hopefully have some really nice shots soon enough :D

Redsnapper has been highly recommended on Talkphotography forum for a long time (the guy who supplies them is on there too if you want to ask him any questions). Thats how I heard about em and bout one with the ballhead. Bloody good stuff!

I got recommended to Redsnapper through these very forums and ended up on Talk Photography too where they are rightly recommended.

@James: I did the same thing myself and snapped this. Around my area though the birds are so used to humans that I've sat in the garden and had one less than arms length away ;)

Wow very nice, guessing you used HDR to bring out the colours like that?
