they don’t understand that he’s a maverick character and sport needs those, like the 80’s players who had unique, sometimes crazy ways about them like Higgins and White.

Let’s be honest, other than Ronnie, snooker now is mostly just full of charismaless boring clones who have nowt interesting about them. You can see it with the influx of Chinese players. With a couple of exceptions, they just look like they’ve rolled off a production line.
 
Interesting final session to come; Ronnie will need to up his game if he's to win an 8th title.
Although if anyone can have a bad session and come good its Ronnie.

Its incredible seeing Ronnie, Higgins and Williams still at the sharp end this far on; the only other sport I can think of with similar would be Golf with Tiger Woods but while he was won majors over a long period he's also had completely anonymous periods due to injury or scorned wife related injuries!
