Regrets

there is a distinction between regret and disappointment. i mean, i was very disappointed with DA2, but i do not regret buying it, as i was looking forward to it, after playing the first one. It wasn't bad, but nowhere near good enough. But I had to play it, after playing DAO.

I regret buying games that i do not get anything form, such as Broderlands, as i mentioned, paying full price, after hearing great things. Could not get in to it at all.

Rainbow Six Vegas 2, COD 2, COD MW1, COD MW2, GRAW pack (Steam Sale), Assassin's Creed. Maybe one or two others, can't remember now.

Oh, yeah, someone reminded me...Farcry 2.

Come on GRAW pack in the steam sale was a good deal, i think i got it too. Surely you got something out of it?

No, unfortunately I didn't like it. I have yet to play a recent tactical shooter that I can say I like, or at least think of. I 'think' I found some of the very old Rainbow Six more enjoyable.

I'm bored at work. Thought i would start a discussion. (this could start something here.....;))

Which games do you regret buying/playing?
Or do you regret something specific with regards to certain games?

Personally, i regret buying Borderlands GOTY for £30 from Steam. Not the game i thought it was at all.

Specifically, i regret reading spoilers for Mass Effect 2 before playing, as i feel it did kind of spoil some of the reveals(thats why they are called spoilers;))

Yeah, it was sold to me as an online co-op game. I thought "great, the next left 4 dead!"
Turned out there was no dedicated server and the net code was horrible.
So it was a repetitive single player game. I mean it was all right but not what I wanted. Not what I paid for.
Agree with bioshock too, all garnish and no dinner.
Batman arkham asylum. The worst kind of hand holding, a to b, console style button masher. Unless you get it up for super heroes, the game is worthless.
Homefront. I could go on all night, so many bad games XD

I very rarely regret buying games at launch, because i'm obviously looking forward to playing them, so find it easier to get some enjoyment out of them. The only one i can think of that i regretted buying at launch was Final Fantasy 10 on PS2, after really looking forward to it, and paying full-price.

With Borederlands, i bought the GOTY edition after reading positive reviews and having been recommended it. £30!!

Borderlands I liked to some degree, but as mentioned I found it a too repetative. If it comes up on Steam for a dirt cheap price one year then I may grab it for a rainy day, but that's about all I think.

Borderlands bored the utter crap out of me.

I also regret selling my Xbox 360 to fund more money into my rig :(, getting another one soon though :p
