Regrets

I regret buying Far cry 2 (had the CE which was an extra kick in the pants), Metro 2033 and Empire total war. Annoying since Metro and empire are Steam games I can't even sell them :(

I regret buying Transformers: war for cybertron, aion, call of duty black ops, dc universe online, spore, need for speed hot pursuit and a host of other games that i've forgotten over time.

I also regret buying minecraft and eve online as i may never get my life back now :p

1. Vanguard
2. Vanguard (deserves 1st, 2nd and 3rd place really)
3. UFO: Aftershock (was one of the After* series anyhow)
4. Dragon Age (1)
5. EverQuest: House of Thule (and then never playing it)
6. A number of Steam games which might be fab but I'll never get round to playing them.

Dragon Age Origins + Awakening

Then when you get to the encampment, the scripted story just tapers off and youre left to go where you like, I signed up for a scripted story game not elder scrolls oblivion.
So you regret getting Dragon Age because it isn't final fantasy (or any other monorail jrpg)? Fail troll is fail.

For me it would have to be new vegas. Got the CE, played it for an hour but couldn't get into it =( FNV, NWN2 and KOTOR 2 are the reason i avoid obsidian games like the plague now.

Mass Effect 2 - dumbed down, linear story, boooooring minigame, lacking in epicness compared to the first - still I have hopes for ME3

Dead Space 2 - overall fail, they turned the survival horror into a fast paced fps to please the console crowd, plasma cutter useless, enemies are 5x as fast and their is more of them, you got ambushed by a dozen monsters in every corridor - super boring and lame...could go on forever. Was still entertaining but wasn`t near as good as its predecessor.

Blackops, New vegas, DA2 - gay games

Minecraft - got bored with it after 2 weeks

Just to close with something positive: Shogun 2 is good :p

Couldn't disagree more. Especially about lacking in epicness. and i would not call it a linear story tbh.
Do you really regret buying it? really?

I don't think that anyone has mentioned Assassin's Creed, which is surprising because it was one of the biggest let downs for me. It was a horrible boring series of ill thought out minigames, leading to an ending which less of an ending and more of a sudden cutting off half way through a story. It probably seems less heinous now that there are sequels out that continue the story, but at the time it was like paying to see a full movie where they stopped it a third of the way through and kicked you out.

No I didn`t regret buying it I still enjoyed it somewhat but not nearly as much as the first one.

The final battle in ME was one of the most memorable epic battles in recent memory for me.

As for the story in ME2, there was basically none. 90% of the game consist of you going from planet to planet assembling your team, getting to know their background, helping them out in different ways in return for their service. This however has nothing to do with the main story line, these are just side missions that don`t progress the main plot any further.

Yes Assassins creed was a bit of a chore to play. They have turned it around now though. I consider AC brotherhood to be the best game i have played this year so far by a mile, and i loved AC2.

My main priblem with ME2, was that it didn't really feel like a 2nd part of a trilogy. It either felt like a first part, in the team building bits. Or the final part, in the suicide mission bit and the prepaaration for the mission. Made it feel a bit uneven for me. I still loved it though

Perfect dark zero
was expecting something awesome with how much people liked the N64 one which I never managed to play but then it just wasn't that great.

Uncharted 1 and 2
Bare in mind these aren't bad games but I take issue with uncharted 2 because it was worse than the first (the scenery (other than snow area) wasn't as good to me, the climbing got slightly more finicky, fist fighting became crap, story was almost exactly the same as the other just a bit longer and even had similar boat rides etc. Only surprise was fighting a tank) but the first was too short, had a crap last boss fight and was too predictable with the gameplay of both being worse than similar titles like MGS4 and Gears (just talking about aiming and cover when it comes to gears)

Dragon Age 2
God what a mess. I didn't buy DA2 but the demo and reviews alone let me know I'm not missing out.

Assassins creed
The second game seems to have improved but my experience with AC was that the first game drew me in immediately, then I got bored of it quickly but figured I'd enjoy it just for the combat so got it for Xmas and within an hour or two got bored of even that.

You WOULD have regretted buying it, but you didn't, so you dodged a bullrt there. I didn't like it, it was very disappointing, but i do not regret buying it, as i did complete it, and i loved the first one

I loved the first too but it just removed what I loved about it, I loved the unique openings, the KOTOR styled combat and to be honest I loved being a dwarf berserker :p Then I had to be a human with over speeded combat and no chance to pick any upbringings or anything. I'm sure it's still a decent game but I don't buy horrible games so this was still a regret for me, even if it's just regretting what they changed it to.
