Regrets

Black OP`s, a pile of **** ever to grace PC gaming.

However Homefront has turned out to be a awesome little multiplayer shooter. Its old school style FPS. Just needs a few more maps and game types and we are away. If it was rebranded COD6 the reviewers would have rated it 10/10. (I have never had any performance issues either, even with my old GTX295 @1920x1200 maxed out, a GTX580 eats shrugs it off)

Buying borderlands for full price (plus dlcs) on steam, instead of waiting for a sale.

Wasting too many years with elderscrolls iv. Sort of like singleplayer wow (though I've never played wow, so can't compare personally).

Buyng Grid - only £3 on a steam sale, but don't really like it.
Buying bioshock 2 on release (with the bioshock 1 deal); still not played either of them.

What are people bothered by in MW2? Aside from no dedicated servers, which has actually saved the game for me :/

How did it save the game for you?

Their MP system means you can't choose what maps you want to play; it's seriously unstable with host migrations commonplace; lost connections a regular occurrance; blatent hackers prevelant; akimbo (especially G17s) annoy people; tubing is too easy and therefore common (and annoying); and quick scoping is stupid, too easy and annoying! Did I miss anything?!

MW2 has a great many good points though, I clocked up about 700 hours on it and have Fall camo (on my F2000 :) ) and nice things unlocked across a lot of guns.

Because the net infrastructure in the middle east is awful, im stuck on a shockingly poor connection and all my games struggle to allow playable online gaming. MW2 on the other hand works out, because the host is usually just down the road.

World Of Warcraft, wish i never played it.

I regret not realising how shallow and repetitive it is sooner, it does a great drop of dressing that up. It has a great setting and is well built for such a dated game now, but that South Park episode 'make love not warcraft' sums it up perfectly.

I regret not really playing my copy of Tales of Symphonia, it sort of went..untouched for some reason. I then sold it, along with the rest of my gamecube games. I wish i'd have kept it tbh, goes for a fair price on ebay, and i wish i'd have kept some of my other gamecube games.

Oblivion - old school fantasy games that have that middle ages look just don't excite me tbh :( I kind of don't like games that give you 'to much' freedom either. I like a set path to follow.

Fable 3 - It's so dull and pointless. I love the setting, but it just doesn't quite hit the bar.

the new AVP in the steam xmas sale for £3.75. Great i thought, and then found out how badly it runs. I should have waited for the console version at a similar price (I wasn't in a hurry to play it).

What don't people like about black ops? Just out of interest.
It stuttering like gareth gates in the dock unless you turn off shadows is the obvious one but I'd like to know why people dislike it.

Because it's like walking through one huge cutscene with an occasional QTE thrown in.

Case in point being demonstrated by an AIM:

I regret buying so many games these days that I only seem to spend an hour or two on each and have no fun on any.

I remember watching some crappy daytime program that featured a dog that would tear any toys bought for it to shreds, the cure was to give it 100s of tennis balls at once, it didn't know what to do with itself and ended up completely uninterested in toys altogether. Yearly uber Steam sales = those tennis balls :(

I feel your pain.

Prince of Persia: Forgotten Sands - Way too short, terrible combat (he cant even block!), and the acrobatics were nothing new.

Splinter Cell: Double Agent - buggy, non-stealthy, and a complete disaster.

Painkiller: Resurrection - pre-ordered on Steam so had no choice but to endure the poor level design, AI, buggy, buggy, buggy pile of trash. But it did come with the original & Overdose, so not all bad :).

There are many bad purchases I've made over the years, but I'm getting a little drunk on the first beer I've drunk in months and my memory is getting a bit foggy. :o

Biggest mistake:

Spore - What on earth was that all about?

Recent(ish) mistakes
Civ 5 - :(
GT5 - Never listen to fanboys. Never. Even the "casual" hugging Forza 3 was better than this.

I would also like to add Empire: Total War, but I still keep playing it.

Lone Soldier on the PS1, it was such a terrible terrible game and I foolishly traded 2 games for it because the graphics looked good. Since that day graphics has become the least important quality of a game to me.

Test Drive unlimited, I bought and played once. I had a laptop at the time and it could barely play it so didnt bother playing it again.

Anarchy Online, I got addicted to it and wasted so many hours. So glad I got out of it and i'm scared to try any more MMO's because even if its a rubbish game it keeps you coming because of the time you have already invested in it.

Need For Speed: Motorcity Online, EA comes out with this brilliant game and its my first taste of an MMO. It was crude but epic and fun. Why do I regret it? because it gave me a taste of MMO addiction based around building and racing cars so I bought the game, payed a monthly fee and then one day EA shuts it all down. Time and money wasted but not by my choice and I have to live with the fact I loved a game that I can no longer play
I still hold a grudge against EA.

COD is all about the multiplayer nowadays. I wouldn't be surprised if most of the people who bought it haven't even played the campaign.
Are all you cod haters just talking about the single player campaign? Because I'd agree with that, it's god-awful :D
