Regrets

Biggest regret ever was when i bought animaniacs on the SNES, back then i got like 1-2 new games a year at best, i was probably about 10 at the time, ended up picking that........why oh why didn't i go for marios time machine?! :( :p

Biggest regret of the past few years though has been fallout 3, just didn't enjoy it at all, 30minutes of gameplay for £30 and i've not touched it since.

Thirty minutes isn't very long for FO3. Have you thought about giving it another try? Something like one and a half to two hours would do it more justice. :)

WoW - Had amazing times with amazing people but wish I never played it. Only when I got out of it I realised how much time I wasted raiding and grinding week in, week out.

avp. I got it for £3 off play and it's the first time where I've bought a game for less than £5 and seriously questioned if it's worth that. I think I've played demos longer than the alien campaign...

Well, maybe it was more than 30 minutes :p essentially what i did was the starting intro type thing followedb y getting out into the big world, seeing some fancy large scorpions and picking up some missions, just couldn't get into it beyond that point, looked like it had a lot going for it and i can see how people would love it, but it wasn't for me :(

GTA IV, Crysis, Just Cause 2 & Far Cry 2.

4 games that LOOK awesome but the gameplay makes you want to tie the game DVD to a rock and fling it into the Pacific. (I can see protests comin but this is *my* opinion!)

Specially FC2....gosh thay could have done SO much more with that fantastic environment. Instead you have to ambush convoys that are going around in circles...so whats the challenge in that? Its like being at a race track. After that mission FC2 got its ass uninstalled. And there I was expecting really good AI & AI traffic....

The Witcher - I tried but couldn't get into it, main character looks like a pleb and combat was very iffy. Also I have a dislike of invisible walls and this one, somehow made them feel even more limiting than usual.

Empire: Total War - God awful game, naval battles are dire, land battles are marginally less boring but the game itself is dull regardless of how nice it looks. Shogun II is far more fun.

King Arthur - The Roleplaying Wargame. Dire in every way possible.

Fair enough. :)

when i first played FO3, i did the same. I played for around 3 hours, got to the radio station after a bit of exploring, but couldn't really get in to it, so i put it on the shelf and forgot about it. About 6 months later, after people telling me to give it another go, i did.
I couldn't put it down, as this time, i knew what to expect, and did some proper exploring. I think i ended up playing it for around 80 hours.

There is so much to do, and so many different ways to do it.

First person shooters with role playing elements, these are my favourite type of games. It's a shame there aren't that many of them. All I can think of off hand are Deus Ex, SS2, FO3 / Vegas, Stalker SOC / CS/ COP.
