Release dates for C400, Vertex 3, G3

I hope these news are true and the drives will live up to the expectations. The C300 won't be wasted in my notebook and the new Intel drive would be more than welcome addition to my desktop.

160GB for £150 ish would be a dream price :)

160GB for £150 might be pushing it but when you look at the price drop between G1 and G2 its not impossible. I really am hoping that the differences between G2 and G3 is close to G1 to G2.

I'll believe it when I see it. After all, these "G2 successors" were meant to be out Q4 last year going by first rumours.

I won't be stung waiting around for Intel to release price competitive drives again, they seem to be content wasting time for some reason.

I'll be waiting :p I don't *need* an SSD now so I'm sticking with my gut that the G3 is the one I'll be happiest to drop some coin on.

any idea what the price drop was from G1 to G2, im tempted just to drop some money and get a C300 64gb

They'll launch 'mid april', so at the rate we've been going, May. Then factor in another month for the price to settle from the gouging and you're looking at June before we see these available, and even then they may not hit the price point we're all after.

In the meantime I've installed a C300 64gb, getting 3 months of SSD goodness, at the end of which I'l throw it in the laptop and buy a G3 :) All for the sake of about £20. Works for me! If These had come out in Feb, or even early March, I would have held off on the C300. But summer just seems that little bit too long to be missing out.

Cool. Just in time for a clean install of OS X 10.7 ;)
