Remembering dreams/waking up from dreams...

i cant be bothered to read all that site. so

step 1 - tell self to remember dreams then write them down when i wake up
step 2 - ???
step 3 - profit!

Ok

Step 1 - record dreams untill you can remember 2-3 per night.
Step 2 - Do at least 15-20 reality checks a day (plug nose try and breath, when you cant breath, say to self "im awake")
Step 3 - Go to bed telling yourself you will realise you are dreaming.

Thats just very basic, it's called the DILD technique for beginners. It works by the reality checking through out the day enough so it becomes 2nd nature and you begin to do it in your dream, where of course it will fail leading you to realize you are dreaming.

If you get to that stage, which you will if you believe you can (took me about 1 week) Then the pure excitment of whats happening will most likley wake you up. So your gonna want to know some methods to stabilize the dream.

Method 1 - Rubbing your hands together (This is the most popular method, worked for me the first time i got lucid.)
Method 2 - Dream spinning, basically spin around on the spot. (This made me wake up, but its a tried and tested method and works for many others)
Method 3 - My fav, kneel down and put your hands on the floor, take in the feel of the dream scene. When i did this i put my hand on some broken glass and it actually hurt.

So what does it mean if you never remember your dreams? i dont think i have remembered one in the last 5-6 years, but i always have a lot of de ja vu moments, of when i remember dreaming about the moment that has just happened, and what is about to happen in real life and 99% of the time does happen... does that mean anything to you guys? lol

When I was young I could do this easily. Now I hardly dream or don't remember them. I will give it a try. I wanna have superpowers!

@ mohawk
I dont know anything on de ja vu but i think its something to do with over familiarlarity (sp?) on the situation , so you either think you have been there before, or this has happend before  There is the opposite of de va vu which is called Jamais vu. When you dont recognise something for a split second. I dont know enough on that tho :p

You have many dreams a night and you wake up briefly after each stage of REM sleep but you simply dont remember, thats normal. Some people have better recall, some dont. If you go to sleep tell yourself in your mind you will remember your dreams, you will more likley start recalling them.

Loads can Lucid Dream without even knowing what Lucid Dreaming is. Its just normal to them. I had Lucid dreams as a kid but just thought it was some super cool dream or something, never questioned it untill i started reading about them online. Infact most people i've spoke to had at least one lucid dream as a kid.

*raises hand*

Have been doing it for about 6 months so far, it does officially rock. Flying is still one of my favourite things to do! :D

It's hard to beat flying, have you tried finding a mirror and stepping into it? That made me feel a bit scared but it was a very fun thing to try

Yep I had a few as a kid and then forgot about it. While at college I got talking about dreams with a mate of mine and found out he had had a couple too. So we started trying to research it and both managed with some success to do it at will.

However a few times I had what are call false awakenings where I thought I had come out of the dream, but hadn't. I would wake up in my bed and then after a little while of looking round the room or whatever I would realise something wasn't quite right. I would then realise I was still sleeping.

On one occasion however while staying at my girlfriends this happened twice. I was in a dream and then I woke up, her room seemed weird and when I looked over she wasn't in bed with me anymore, so I got out of bed and looked out of her window and saw the back garden at my parents house outside! I then turned around and there was an old man standing beside her bedroom door, which really scared me. Almost instantly I woke up with a jolt in her bed thinking phew that was strange. I Looked over and she still wasn't there, I started to panic and realised I was trapped in another dream, I willed myself to wake up propperly but I couldn't. My heart was racing and I was totally freaking out, wondering if I would be trapped in this dream world forever. Whatever I did I couldn't get myself to wake up and I started to think have I actually died, am I a ghost.... I imagined my girlfriend finding my body next to her in the morning and allsorts, very very disturbiong.

Finally I woke up, looked over and she was there next to me fast asleep. I have never dabbled with lucid dreaming since.

Its not scary if you know what it is.

Ive had one before got up in the night went to go to the toilet and i was hovering, thought WHAT THE HELL, oh cool im dreaming. It just goes to show how real lucid dreaming actually is if it can fool you making you think you are actually awake during FA.

Just remember, while lucid its all coming from your mind, you are in controll, nothing can hurt you and its totally safe.

reading some stuff up about it, it seems very interesting, and i want to lucid dream about certain ladies... But it actually looks pretty scarey aswell, on a website, people have said they lucid dreamed about leaving the body, and looking down at themselves sleeping. And other stuff aswell.

I had a short dream yesterday morning, about 1hr before waking up time. I was trying to kill my uncles wife (shes evil) by running her over, head first, with a tractor. I knew I was dreaming it. One part of me was thinking about waking up, second half dreaming..quite cool.
