Remembering dreams/waking up from dreams...

Whenever my friend falls asleep, i can talk to her and control her dreams. I introduce people, i change the setting just by talking to her when she's asleep. She'll then wake up and repeat the dream exactly as i told it to her.

Quite creeepy.

That's because...........

.........She's not asleep?

I tried doing this last night and it worked - sorta.

I haven't been able to even remember dreams for about 3 years now, but last night I remembered 4! Although whilst having these I didn't know that I was dreaming, yet alone have any control, but one of the dreams felt so real. I was in the car with my brother who's learning to drive atm and he was driving. This was illegal as we had no L plates and also i haven't held a license for 3 years yet (so can't teach him to drive), anyway, the police suddenly appear behind us and start flashing the lights for us to pull over, but instead of pulling over i grabbed the stearing wheel and attached it to the passengers side of the car with ease! The thing that made this dream vivid was that i could really feel the muscles in my arms turning the wheel (due to it not having power steering) Anyway i continued to drive on a tad and pulled over and then realised that i shouldn't have been able to just attach a stearing wheel! So i tried to put it back on the drivers side but it would't click into place, then i fell out the door and woke up.

It may sound like nothing but to me this is quite a big thing! I think with practice i might learn to Lucid dream pretty soon, and gets some clark kents skills on the go! :D

Yes, it really does work. Just try and remember that theres will always be something "just not right" in dreams, this can be your dream sign.

If you start reality checking in the day and keep on the dream recall, sooner or later you will reality check in the dream and become lucid.

Now imagine being in that dream and suddernly realizing its a dream, you then "wake up inside the dream", stop the car and shoot fireballs at the police with your hands, then fly away!

I'm really lucky that I've been naturally able to go lucid for as long as I can remember. I've never really had to try to do it, or get used to it, I have always just been able to do it. It is the coolest thing in the world.
I've never tried walking into a mirror so wil have to give that a go, and for anyone that watches stargate, I suggest you try going through the gate, for me it was such an amazing rush.
Another thing thats cool, is that I can let a dream play out as it normally would, but watch from a third person view.

The main idea of The Matrix is based on lucid dreaming and for anyone wanting to learn, go by what Morpheus says to Neo. Don't think you can, know you can.

Thats exactly what i'm hoping to do! It's so stange to be able to recall these dreams, all i did really was think about it before i went to sleep and as soon as i woke up i was thinking about the dreams. I've been reality checking today (hold nose to stop breathing) and i'll continue to do so till i get a lucid dream!

I only started doing the reality check thing yesterday and last night I had a lucid dream! Well actually it only lasted about 20 seconds, I woke up soon after realising I was in a dream.

It was really strange. I was in my dream and suddenly I thought to myself "I think this is a dream". Then I thought about trying the reality check thing but decided not to because I knew that it was a dream.

As soon as I tried to change my dream I woke up :(

You will probably find when it happens for the first time, it will be such a rush of pure amazment and excitment you will wake up.

And yea, i agree 100% with "dont think you can, know you can" as i said earlier in the thread, its really all about confidence :)

I think were going to have a couple more lucid dreamers outta this thread soon!

And remember.

If you get to that stage, which you will if you believe you can (took me about 1 week) Then the pure excitment of whats happening will most likley wake you up. So your going to want to know some methods to stabilize the dream.

Method 1 - Rubbing your hands together (This is the most popular method, worked for me the first time i got lucid.)
Method 2 - Dream spinning, basically spin around on the spot. (This made me wake up, but its a tried and tested method and works for many others)
Method 3 - My fav, kneel down and put your hands on the floor, take in the feel of the dream scene. When i did this i put my hand on some broken glass and it actually hurt.

I got lucid last night! Only for like 10 secs, i tried rubbing my hands today but i could feel myself starting to wake up it was so weird/annoying :(

OMG I had a lucid dream again last night! I haven't even been doing any of the techniques recently (totally forgot about them) but I had one anyway!

As soon as I realised I did that thing you said, put my hands on the ground to take it all in. Did it about 5 times lol :D

Then I walked along and went into a shopping mall. I put my hands by my side and flew up the the 4th floor! It was awesome! :D

Then I thought, right lets try something crazy...so I just ran along and jumped off the 4th floor and fell all the way to the ground floor. I tried to land on my feet but I messed it up landed on my back! Didn't even hurt :p :D

That sounds awesome! I've had three since this thread started now, the best i've done has been jumping over double decker busses in london... lol. Still feels amazing though :)

Wow this is really interesting. Im always really good at remembering my dreams, i can even recall some ive had when i was a kid ( i think i was 10 at the time ). Im going to try this tonight see if it works.

problem with trying to control your dreams is that your subconscious mind has priority over your conscious thoughts.

Dont watch lots of horror movies ;)

THIS SOUNDS AWESOME.

I want to go to bed right now.
I usually remember dreams quite well when I am first waking up but then forget them later on in the day.

I think I used to have fairly lucid dreams when I was younger, MUCH younger, like only 5 or something. I had a red plane I always flew around the house. I remember having this dream on a regular basis. But now, 16 years or so on, I can't remember how much control I had over it.

Seriously looking forward to going to bed tonight. I find it hard to believe that it is as real as everyone says it is but I am certainly going to believe in it and see what happens :)

Well i tried the holding nose thing all day yesterday, and I was determined to dream when I slept.

When I woke up this morning I didn't think I had dreamt at all, and then I remember I did dream about being in a hotel room with my girlfriend and some weird old bloke who kept trying to rape me and my girlfriend.

Anyway, remembering the dream I also remember I had no control over it. I guess I need to find out what my dream sign is (is that what it's called?)
