This game seems to be a lot harder to aim with controller than the original. I played all the other games with a pad and 100%ed them on hardmode etc and had no issues, but I can't seem to get the hang of this remake. Like when they suddenly charge me I have 0 chance of getting a headshot before they get to me and end up just spraying them and wasting ammo.

Looking online the game seems to have massive dead zone issues on the Xbox and PC, Ps5 and mouse control is unaffected.

Like you had no issues on the original re4, looks like it needs a patch.

RE4 has made me reinstall Village, not played it since launch, forgot how good this looks too! didn't realise there was a third person view for it now, need to try it. I forgot most of the story so be nice to play through it again.

I managed to bounce back on the next section, there were a load of crates and got some good drops, I hadn't even tried the crossbow much at all but have now upgraded it and can see it's nice, especially the explosive bolts.

The chainsaw sisters didn't take too much ammo as I had a couple of grenades so I'm now back to having good supplies, a decent amount of ammo again. I've definitely missed a fair few shots using controller, but I've been mostly using knee shots then melee and knives to the head, so have been playing fairly efficiently, but also wasted loads of grenades and ammo on mobs just for fun, I switch to mouse for the shooting range as it is more accurate.

It was the mostly the optional boss bullet sponge that got me in trouble, but it was a lot more survival horror having that little ammo in that under siege section, likely with 10 less bullets I couldn't have done it.

D3D fatal error? If you have RT enabled, turn it off, you won't be missing too much, it only applies to water reflections.

Anyone had any crashes?

Only happened twice in 13 hours, but twice too many IMO.

I have had it twice even with RT off. Don't think it is a VRAM thing as many now even with a 4090 like yourself are reporting it. I am sure they will have a patch out soon enough. Luckily the game auto saves.

Though I do play it at 5160x2160 as it looks much better than playing it at 3440x1440.

Don't get how @mrk can play it at 3440x1440 as it looks relatively poor at that res imo.

Gonna have to examplify poor at 3440x1440 there I'm afraid, to my eyes it's perfectly sharp and rich in graphical quality at that res! As the screenshots have shown!

I said relatively poor, there's a difference ;)

I am playing with FSR and it seems quite a bit better downscaling from the higher resolution. You don't have to take my word for it though, you have the exact same hardware, try it yourself :)

FSR is visibly softer in image, so that makes sense that with FSR enabled you were seeing a poorer image construction, because FSR is poor compared to DLSS, even with DLAA/DLDSR etc being used. I do not use FSR in anything, inc this game, the image quality is not on par with native TAA/FXAA+TAA. Don't need FSR when you are getting 100fps anyway though :p

Still won't look as good as FSR downscaled from 5160x2160 ;)
