If you didn't like 5 then you might not like this. It's more like 5 than the first few Resident Evil games. Its slightly more RE like, due to the setting being a bit dark and creepy, rather than sunlight, but the mechanics are basically the same.

It's a fun game though, much better without an AI partner. I actually enjoyed 5 for a bit of coop fun, doing some speed runs with a mate. Managed to get an overall time of 1h 54m lol.

Didnt like RE4 and I have been a RE fan since RE1 on the Playstation.

RE directors cut was one of the best, in my opinion and also some of the RE games on the Gamecube. Code veronica, Zero etc. In fact I bought a Gamecube just for the RE games :D

I really wanted to like RE4, but it wasn't an RE game to me. Nor was RE5 but I guess they have to move forward with the 'formula'.

I felt RE4 was clunky and a little boring and the cheesy voice acting was a whole new level of cringe. At least in RE1 the voice acting was just plain bad, not cheesy! "Oh....no, I hope.....this is not......Chris'...blood."

Compared to "I really don't give a damn! Rain or shine you're going down!" *shudder* :D

Just didnt feel scary to me and I wasnt taken in by the plot.

I still feel the earlier games were superior, both in how they felt, the atmoshpere and the story line. I mean being chased by a pair of Hunters when you have no health and no ammo and cant see exactly where they are just adds a whole different dimension to the experience in my opinion :D
 
Not long to go now guys. If any of you are purchasing this let me know how it feels like and if it's worth getting. I had no trouble getting the PC version of the game running with HD texture mods a while back.
