Resident Evil 7!!!

That's niot the point

It 2017

The best gaming monitors are 21:9

And yet this game doesn't support it?

Its crazy and lazy of the devs...

Ive got a x34 and playing it on 2560x1440 which is annoying yes but doesn't bother me that much tbh would be nice on the next play through to play full rez

Loving the game so far but a little underwhelmed by the graphics. For a 2017 game I think they could have done better. Textures look sub par. That said it runs like an absolute dream with everything maxed (1080p/120hz).

I'm about an hour on from the 2nd videotape, almost got the door with 3 heads open.

So far, I'm not finding it a good game. I just jog around not afraid of the really weak and easy to outrun elderly occupants, they just aren't scary. The only time I jumped was in the water at the start. I'm now already finding the game a slog. Those oily non descript monsters that rarely pop up are also boring.

I think I'm desensitized by Amnesia and the Silent Hill games. Also the music doesn't give me the sense of foreboding that Resident Evil 1,2 or 3 gave me.

Also since when can you simply stick your foot back on if it gets cut off? I laughed so hard when I was crawling to pick up my foot and reapplying it through the inventory.

It would be nice to play a 2017 release at 3440 x 1440p on release day.

Others Devs manage it.

21:9 isn't the be all and end all, stop banging on about it :D no one cares :D

I went from 21:9 to 4k 16:9 best move ive made. If you buy a monitor with a hardly used res surly you expect to run into a few problems.

Getting between 40-50 with everything maxed on 1070 at 4k so its either tweaking options or locked 30 (which I think is fine for this game)

I really couldn't play games 30-50fps 4k or not it would be horrible IMO obviously.

Having 100hz monitor and going below 50fps regardless of gysnc is not unplayable just not enjoyable.

Just started this, really impressed so far, get 120-180 fps at 1920-1200! Game is really atmospheric, never really got into games like amnesia but this is kinda like that done right! How did i ever live without nvidia fast sync, no screen tearing or input lag and proper full screen mode.

Me and a mate just completed this in 9.5 hours. Terrifying and a brilliant story throughout especially towards the end in our opinion.

Not sure how I would have coped on my own though :p

I have had no problems playing other current titles so your point is moot.

40-50 fps is unplayable

2k 100fps is where its at.

Your choice is just madness and reeks of purchase justification complex.:p;)

You didn't even have a proper 21:9 monitor...

LG Flatron 29UM65-P (29") UltraWide Monitor Owners Thread

that's why I love this forum, got monitor looking sweet now.....very impressed.

now I need a new gpu as sold my 280x and intel 4600 just isn't cutting it :D

Seems you're happy with superwide here, albeit it being only 1080p :p

Just completed it, can join this thread now and not worry about any spoilers :D

Took me 10 hours and 48 minutes. Will be back with more thoughts on it later.

Was only a joke easy as you had a lot of posts about it in this thread. :D Yeh I was happy with 21:9 for a bit.

I wasnt happy playing 40-50 that's why I said tweak setting.

Anyway games great (no matter the res) lol.

Even if is 10-12 hours, that is really disappointing. Just checked my hours played on RE4, 5 & 6 and they all have over 50 hours of play each!

I will ake quality over quantity every time. Just like I would take Resident Evil 7 over 5 and 6 any time :)

so without me going back through all the previous posts, is this game set entirely in the house? or is there other locations?

There are other locations ;)

You lot are keeping the gaming industry stagnant by gaming in 16:9 :(

Cracks me up when games keep coming out and I see easyrider crying due to no 21:9 support. Pretty sure my next monitor will be 16:9 as even in 2017 21:9 is not ready :p

Watched some of this on Lirik's stream yesterday and it does actually look a lot better than it was advertised to be. There is combat and some minor survival which is nice, but the enemies? They're really bad, they look like giant clumps of burnt toast and noodles. :D

I really don't see why they couldn't of had zombies again, they're much scarier, especially with how 7 feels and with HDR. Could you imagine a crimson head screeching and flying down a corridor after you? Just a black figure until it comes into the light then boom you get this zombie on speed in your face. Instead you're playing target practice with bad Revelations monsters and running from a hillbilly who won't stop shouting 'Daddy's coming!' like what? :p

Still, I think it looks like a worthy purchase, an improvement over 6 and potentially 5 too, but nothing compared to 4 and Code Veronica. Those games were much more intense and didn't try anywhere near as hard to create a spooky atmosphere, they just had it. Like I don't mind the direction the series is going at all, they just *really* need to work on the enemies.

21:9 is ready

Game of the Year Titanfall 2 full support for 21:9

BF1 21:9

NEXT

Enjoyed the game. I did not think it was too short for a resident evil game as the originals were never that long anyway. There was only one area in the third quarter of the game I did not enjoy as much, but apart from that it was good. They managed to link it in with the resident evil story well enough for me.

It was not what I would call a perfect modern resident evil game, however it was close and overall much better than resident evil 6. Happy to have paid £24 for the experience. Will definitely be playing it again in the future.

Overall I will give it a 8.5 out of 10 :D

My new order of favourite RE games:

1- Resident Evil 2
2- Resident Evil
3- Resident Evil 3
4- Resident Evil: Code Veronica
5- Resident Evil 0
6- Resident Evil 7
7- Resident Evil 4
8- Resident Evil 5
9- Resident Evil 6
