Resident Evil 7!!!

Honestly just want more intricate or lengthy puzzles, not sure they can do much with the story without just... padding it. (though there are some grievances with awkward points in RE stories that make little sense that could do with more context)

Wow just tested shadow cache and off vs on is 20fps increase on my system!!

when I bring up AMD relive onscreen to capture it drops fps a little thats why you seeing 62 vs 78.. Without overlay on its 65 vs 85 only change when enabling and disabling shadow cache..
So why did Guru3D disable this again on the retest? if its boosting my performance this much what is the 480, fury etc getting?

just finished the game, really enjoyed it. The final fight was fairly easy though, expected it to be more challenging.

At the end of the credits, it says there will be some new free content in March for RE7 :)

The 2 'boss' fights i've had so far have been rubbish.

woman with the chain saw and the guy doing 360 doughnuts in his garage.

Hope the game gets better. It's rubbish so far and not scary.

I didn't like the first boss fight much either, although it was something different. The game gets better after this point for me.

Well I'm definitely in the "love the game" camp :)

Around 5 hours play time so far and have enjoyed every minute (goosebumps and filled pants accepted :D)

Like why is everything a massive bullet sponge? I know you can wash it all away with the Virus type, but man.

Everything? Apart from bosses mostly everything would drop fast with a few bullets/shotgun to the head. This was on Normal mode for me. I had tons of ammo by the time the game ended.

I did not mind them once I worked out what to do. For me the only thing I would say I did not enjoy much was:

The boat.

Didn't realise backward (S) and the X key do a quick 180 turn, neat

So far only downsides for me are the boss fights not quite working too well in first person, they are fine but I don't know if I would prefer it without or maybe bigger arenas?

Also have you ever watched a 3D film in normal 2D and thought 'well that was clearly made to benefit the 3D viewers'

Well I get that feeling with this and it's VR possibilities and it's a bit of a shame. Stuff right up in your face etc feels like it was made for vr, it's not too bad but just a thought I was having

So how scary is this game?

It's a hard one to answer as every one experiences horror games differently imo. For me p.t, amenesia and soma have all sort of spoiled me and the horror her isn't anything we haven't seen before. That said the setting and sound design are very strong and with headphones go along way to making it all feel quite tense!
