Resident Evil 7!!!

Hopefully its a return to horror just to change it up a bit.

Resi 4 was an amazing game despite its move away from horror/adventure/puzzle but Capcom didnt understand what they had made. Gears of war ripped of Resi 4 for the better and Capcom then tried to be like Gears and totally missed the point. 5 was OK,6 was absolute tosh. Utter garbage
 
I missed the first 3 games. Played 5, then 4, then 6. Enjoyed them all immensely even if 6 was a bit frustrating at times. I bought the HD re-master of the original Resident Evil but found it too intense and almost too much hard work to be fun with the limited save options and ultimately gave up after 10 hours of play.

I enjoyed both Resident Evil Revelations games also so for me, I'm kinda hoping they don't stray too far away from the later Resident Evils...
 
This does seem very different. I hope it is a lot more like the original as I slowly stopped enjoying Resident Evil with the introduction of 4. People loved Resident Evil 4. Yes it was a good game, but I wish they used that for a new franchise as it was so different.

To me Resident Evil will always be 0-3 and Code Veronica. I still enjoy playing those every few years. Don't feel the same about 4-6 or Revelations. No idea what they were thinking especially in 6 :o
 
Got around to trying the kitchen demo last night at a mates house - Holy freck it almost ripped me a new one i actually felt like i was strapped to a chair the entire time and made me feel really enclosed in the kitchen.

I slept with the lights on :D

In seriousness it was bloody good.
 
Hopefully this has been beta tested more than recent games. Got it on pre-order and want to play it on launch. I am hoping to run it 4K with at least 30fps :)
 
Tried one demo on ps4 and wasnt all impressed visually maybe as its also being made to suit vr might mean its not been pushed to full potential there however these pc options give me hope! And sounds like it has classic resident evil puzzles and save room music/chests so bit excited now! Before i thought it was just walking around getting jumped but does seem to have classic resi flavour

Well your cast in a darkness most of the time anyway with the flashlight. Personally i think the engine looks great and can only look better in VR

Ran into one of the infected in the demo and thought i would take it down with 6 rounds and an axe. Didn't go as planned. Managed to get both endings though.

End of January will be a good month to beat away the spending blues!

Also pleased they have audio options in this. A lot of games don't cater to those running home entertainment systems or decent headsets so glad they added that in. The last of us was a great example of this done right with DTS support.

You mean you would rather play it on a 16:9 screen vs a 21:9? :eek::p:D
