Resident Evil 7!!!

Would take the Resident Evil Remake over RE4 any day. RE4 is where RE started going downhill for me personally. Don't get me wrong, great game, but not a great RE game. They should have just created a new IP and used the game created for RE4 for that and continued with original formula for Resident Evil in my opinion.

I agree, although it was arguably already ruined by the films anyway.

I like re4 for what it did for third person games, but I found it to be rather over rated personally, still great but I much preferred 1-3 /remake!

Just finished 7! I seem to have a problem lately where games sort of fall apart in the last 3rd and sort of lose there way, first half great, last bit not so much. 7 hours 20mins apparently which is a great length for it imo, any more of how it was going to wards the end then it would have overstayed its welcome

Still a great game and I like what it's done, I just hope if they plan to use this formula to move onwards with the series, they stick to what made it good rather than make it bad like what happened somewhere between 4 and 6 :D

Yeah had a go last night and indeed it breaks that and downstairs have the correct fov :(

Yeah I used the other values and it's still not proper 21:9, it's zoomed in/stretched - Just doesn't look "right" compared to actual 21:9 games.

Graphically it really is not 2017 standards when you compare with the likes of Battlefield 1. Would loved to have seen this on the whole of my 34" Dell curved monitor.
Some of the weapons are pointless, I am looking at you grenade launcher and burner once you have finished with the insects. Though I was please to learn that the knife was useful against the Molded.
Quite easy to get lost or rather be unsure how to get to where you need to go.
But as I said overall this has been an enjoyable game and one that has both kept me from finishing Battlefield 1 and secondly will play again choosing to save the other girl and see where it takes me.
If you like the Resident Evil type of game and you can get this for around 20 quid or so then I heartily recommend it.

Just finished a second playthrough and annoyed that I missed some collectables though it is a bit unfair as although you return to where it all began and where I missed two files the room they were in is locked for some inexplicable reason. Movement is still rubbish particularly in a fight and reloading is a chore also.
I have unlocked a couple of things. Running shoes which make you walk/run faster, A gun with only a few bullets and there are none in the game, the Secrets of Defence scroll which helps during blocking moves and the Essence of Defence another scroll which works in conjunction with the other. The thing is these all these bonuses need to be carried which means 4 slots you cannot use for essentials like ammo or health so not much help.

Just started to play the game on normal.

Disappointed in the graphics, the game looks terrible, other great example of a console port.

The hair the hair is the worst thing, it looks so fake and crap.

Also kept running into many bugs with the graphic settings breaking things in the game like can't run, lose mouse control, controls in the menu don't work, have to drop to desktop and back again to fix it or restart the game.

Boss fight with Jack was a little tricky, had to replay it a few times till I decided to go balls deep and just kept attacking with the thrust attack all the time till I beat him, was so easy after I stopped trying to defend myself and just went in.

Maybe there is a glitch in the boss fight to make it so easy that you can skip a lot of the fighting. After I got him to his knees, I just kept attacking with the Chainsaw and instantly got into the "cut him in half" animation and when he dropped to his knees again, did the same thing, kept attacking his body and finally it tricked the final animation to defeat him.

The video that plays before the game is totally awesome through, they got that part so right.

In my 11 hours playthrough I didnt run into a game bugs :p
Graphics are only let down by the textures they do a good enough job tho, the game has a hole graphicly looks decent the lightning is very well done.

Just finished the game. Steam said I'd put 19 hours into it although it said 12hrs 43 mins play time at the end once I completed it. Guess I must have paused it a lot - not that I can remember.

Anyway - awesome game, definitely my second favourite after RE4. The game was a bit generous with health and ammo on normal difficulty though wasn't it? The Evil Within got the balance more right for me. Looking forward to the DLC...

I have the RE1 remake and was really enjoying it but ultimately gave up after around 10 hours because I just can't handle the limited ribbon save system. I'm a compulsive saver in games and not being able to save the game whenever I wanted really stressed me out! Shame cause I really want to play it right through, maybe I should use a walkthrough as a form of comfort to offset the stress...

Screenshots of terrible graphics please?

I play battlefield 1 with Ultra settings, and that is a game that's very hard to beat on visuals. Yet I was very impressed by RE7.

Lol no bad graphics in re7.. probably people playing at 1080p on some crappy AMD 7970 and some 6 year old AOC 60hz monitor that's about as colour calibrated as my toaster..

Graphics in this game are exceptional..

Opening level there were trees that reminded me of Mario 64...

I agree when the game first starts it looks a bit low res but then once you approach the house it changes and looks great thereafter. I think it was maybe a deliberate artistic choice to look that way at the beginning of the game?...

It's nice to know that I like dross.
I have really enjoyed all the Res Evil films.

That's fine, different strokes for different folks.

I think they are contradictory nonsense. The third one said that the virus dried up all the lakes and rivers and that the earths continents turned in to barren wastelands and then the 4th one opens with Milla Jovovich flying a little plane above a lake....Not even an internal logic to anything.
