Yeah. Will be great exploring and seeing the whole game in a lot more detail. The cut scene for that licker I am looking forward to with today's graphics.

Hulk and Tofu = DLC, mark my words :D
 
Cheers for recommending me to buy this. I've never really played a Resident Evil game before but this is flipping awesome, a proper visual scarefest.

I'm not too sure if they will go first person for that one but could also see them doing it after having success here! I want it to be like the resi 1 remake! Best remake ever imo as they actually added a load of extra areas to the mansion etc

They didn't added anything we got a remake from a remake :p
The remake was from the Nintendo game cube version.

Yep, Resi 2 will be interesting because they not had any framework too go from.
Am really also hoping it has RE7 engine first person view will bring a complete new experience to my favourite of the series.

Would be interesting! As long as they don't do the 4, 5 and 6 over the shoulder I'll be happy
 
Obviously this game has sold really well in its first week but it's 3rd in the list of Resident evils launch week sales!

Resident evil 5 holds the top spot, and I think that only launched on console at launch

Followed by resident evil 6 in second

Maybe 5 is top because of how well 4 was received and may explain why 7 is less than 6 as that game certainly put people off the series no matter what this game can do

But then you have to consider I don't think digital sales are counted in these things for some reason and that's pretty much the main way we buy pc games now (though I bought 7 physically due to it being cheapest)

Probably helps that it is a multiplatform simultaneous release.

Resident Evil, RE2 and Nemesis were PlayStation exclusives for a time. Code Veronica was a Dreamcast exclusive (at first) and Resident Evil 4 was a GameCube exclusive for ages.

This might be the first resident evil that had a same day release on console and PC?
 
This is such a great game, very enjoyable but also creepy and unnerving.
This was definitely the right direction to take after Resi 6 which was so bad I didn't come close to finishing it!
 
The fix in the link below is simple to use and works well without you having to change the values yourself in the HEX editor although whilst it does fill the 21:9 screen without stretching so that graphics still look crisp, it does appear to bring in the FOV so I can't see that it has added any actual extra real estate.

There is talk of a fix on the WSGF forums using Cheat Engine but I haven't sussed that one yet. It's certainly not ideal without the FOV fix for me...

Edit: Actually after just playing it with this fix for an hour, it's absolutely fine - looks great.

Except when you factor in release dates, the original Resident Evil is miles ahead. It created an entire genre and helped to form others.

Would take the Resident Evil Remake over RE4 any day. RE4 is where RE started going downhill for me personally. Don't get me wrong, great game, but not a great RE game. They should have just created a new IP and used the game created for RE4 for that and continued with original formula for Resident Evil in my opinion.
