Resident Evil [Netflix] TV Series

I personally thought the reviews were a little harsh. Yes it wasn't the greatest and the story and character interactions were stupid and boring at times. However it wasn't to say it was all bad. There were parts and Easter eggs that was entertaining which kept me watching. Certain parts was executed poorly but had merit.

How does this compare to the Resident Evil show that was released last year on Netflix, the cgi one? I remember watching 15 minutes of that and turning it off. Most did not like that either. Is this worse?

No nowhere near. I would watch this over that CGi mess anyday.

I've been struggling on through it, there are some genuinely good bits here and there - another show which just makes me want to face palm as they had most of the ingredients and would have been a million times better if they'd just run it past a decent test audience and properly acted on the feedback... there is nothing which couldn't have been fixed. Instead it is a cluster ****.

I think i have got to ep5 while watching it in the background and its terrible. Adding a teen angst aspect into a RE Zombie movie is pretty terrible. I think the only thing i have seen so far that was "cool" was the guy in the tunnel that had the Hydra shotgun from RE5/6.

CGI isn't bad given the quality of the rest of the serious, but doesn't help that it wrapped in this teen drama rubbish. I don't understand why they do it, is it to appeal to the younger audience? Why not build on what made the movies successful?

I endured 2 episodes, I don't think I can handle any more.

It's only made me want to play RESI games as a form of eye bleech so i can forget about this nonsense.

Ok, I think I heard enough. I can’t stand teen stuff these days. I was hoping for a comment to make me give it a go, but I will not bother watching after all I have read here.

Damn, I just spotted this and thought it might be worth checking out. After reading the comments here, I think I'll give it a miss!

How do they keep making Resident Evil content that is nothing like Resident Evil? The games have a rich story and plenty of lore, but the TV/film adaptations just seem to be brainless action/violence/nonsense.

Started watching and decided by the end of EP1 its going to be background telly, nothing to really keep you interested or hooked, much like most new shows.

This is just a guess but I wwonder if they already have a bunch of "generic zombie movie" scripts pre-written and, to save money, just attach the RE name to one of these the generic scripts and spend a short time wrangling a few RE aspects into that script, rather than writing a specific "RE from the ground up" script.

This could've easily been a generic teen drama with zombies without having RE slapped over it. Almost feels like it after watching it, they could remove Umbrella and Wesker and it really wouldn't change much at all.

A fair review, not going to win any awards. But over all entertaining enough to keep me interested.

I'm up to around the end of the third episode and don't know if I'll bother carrying on. I might do, depends on what takes my fancy later.

So far, I've preferred the story between the two sisters to the bit set years later.

Having said that, I did quite enjoy the appearance of the huge spider...

The first half the series is pretty slow and the teenage drama doesnt help. Last 2 episodes are pretty crazy and more to RE vibe. If you like the
Spider
you havent seen anything yet :D

Jesus christ, this is awful...

I'm about 5 episodes in and it's turned into background TV, I'm on the verge of cancelling my Netflix subscription,

It's on a par with Apple's Invasion series..

Just got round to watching this. It was pretty bad, there were some glaringly bad plot holes. I'm a bit miffed it didn't show how the outbreak occurred, and I can't help but think it went mega woke. I guess after finding out about Albert, that this is meant to follow the games? Considering its resident evil, zombies didn't seem to be in it that much, and the main character made some absolutely terrible decisions. I did think the licker seen was quite cool though. The bit that made me laugh was the "attractor" at the end, it'd got a range of several counties, but yet doesn't coat the people who were stood next to it. I think the rating on the Internet is probably fair at 40%.
