The amusing thing though is that they do have a top end card from one aib in stock from them directly for the same price that scalpers are trying to get for a pulse/reaper etc :D

Scalpers are going to get seriously burned on this one.

I think some are so willing to pay over the odds, that scalpers now know it's best to grab as much stock as possible. Found this a few days ago and I still gawp at it, Link . The one who supposedly paid £900 for a 9800X3D is not OP.

It sometimes feels like money has little meaning for some people.

Or maybe they just have so much of it, it doesn't matter. Splurging an extra £400 on a £500 product just so you can have it a bit earlier is so alien to me. I'd just never even entertain the idea.

If you're the same as me, watch out, because I just rung them and they have cancelled my order. Apparently despite it going through and me getting an email confirmation plus a pending charge on my card, they've said that they've simply oversold their allocation. What a joke!!

Now because AMD has said no more rebate, they have to cancel everyone's order because all new stock will be a higher price.

At this rate we'd all be better off learning advanced semiconductor manufacturing and clubbing together to buy a fab to make our own cards

100%.

A little over I could understand, when I mean little say max +10% over launch price/msrp. That level is plain silly. I believe the saying goes "a fool and his money are soon parted".

I do think for sure OCuk could have a pre-order system for forum members. The way several launches have been now, there is no way they'd get stuck with stock or miss out on sales. Probably enhance their standing as the place to shop at.

Mine was cancelled. Luckily I managed to grab one on OCUK in the final drop last night.
