I don't think I could bring myself to buy one for £570 knowing that that was the MSRP for the 9070XT.

Luckily i spent the money i put to one side on something different, so even if i wanted to, i wont be doing.

Is there a good argument for moving from a 7900xtx to a 9070xt when they're back at more reasonable prices? Basically it looks like selling the former would net about £500-550, covering the 9070xt. No major performance difference but FSR 4 is clearly a big improvement. Just thinking about what the better position to be in is when it comes to selling - i.e. getting more for the 7900xtx now, or just sitting tight and waiting a couple of years for the next gen, but having a GPU that's presumably worth less by then.

That's exactly what I thinking.

Luckily I got a 9070 on launch day, not quite at MSRP but close enough. I wasn't quick enough to get an MSRP XT and then when the site came back online, the XT Pulse had gone from £569 to £629 and the Pulse 9070 non XT had gone from £525 to £539, the latter being what I paid. I figured it might be liable to go up further and I was correct, unfortunately.

Was wondering why the 9070 only increased like 15 quid but the 9070 XT increased 60 quid. Now seeing the prices today that the same Pulse 9070 model I got is £569 and that's exactly what the Pulse XT was at MSRP. Now the 9070 and 9070 XT prices are £50 apart again...I wonder if this is how it's gonna stay now until they start lowering the prices at some point in the future, no time soon though probs.

I would say no. Your card beats the new one in the majority of raster situations and some ray tracing games. Plus that vram.

Not so sure for the 9070 at least. They dont seem to be flying off the shelves like the XT model. Demand will only slow down from now onwards as interest/hype and scalping dies down.

With the XT it just depends how many people out there are left that want one compared with the restocks.

Depends on your needs really a 9070 is already pumping out over 100fps in 1440p in many popular games. a lot of people dived into 5080s at 1350 for performance they won't be able to see in many of these games.

On balance the 9070 is a fairly compact, cooler running card.

You could argue a case for a 9070XT capped at 90fps being cooler but it really depends on what you want to play.

I would do so for FSR4 and improved RT performance. The 7900xtx performs like a 3080 in heavy RT games. Depends how much that matters to you. I don't see the need for 24gb of VRAM right now, having more than you need doesn't improve performance. But equally it would depend how much I value the faff of selling the old card.

Yeah I'm in the same boat has FSR4 but rasterization is pitifully low in comparison. After two years its shocking theres nothing better to replace it with other than by spending ridiculous amounts of money

In fairness the 5070ti is also well above MSRP. The delta is still pretty similar between the two.

What's your angle in saying you can't get a 9070 XT at MSRP but then comparing to 5070 Ti MSRP as if that's real.

Find the lowest price you can buy a 5070 Ti at and use that.

Joined 2018 and has 22 posts. Are you an Nvidia sleeper cell?

You can’t get a 5070Ti for less than about £850 and more often about £900. The 9070 XT is still considerably cheaper… but let’s not delude ourselves either are good at the inflated prices.

If it is accurate that these GPUs are out of stock and have to be purchased at current exchange rates, then MSRP should be about:

9070 16GB - £512 (£600)
9070 XT 16GB - £560 (£670)
5070 12GB - £512 (£710)
5070Ti 16GB - £700 (£855)

The number in brackets is the cheapest you can get them in stock right now. To be fair I could give a few % leeway on MSRP for UK prices.
