Retro console and games thread

I picked up a Saturn over the weekend only for it not to work :( It wouldn't read any cd's that I put in there. It kept saying that the drive was empty.

So back to the shop it went and I am back in the hunt for one! I only want one so that I can play Virtua On and Guardian Hereos again! :p

Nowhere near as retro as most of the other stuff in here but the Saturn talk inspired me to post a pic of my lot. Shame my box is pretty yellowed and tatty but still, what a system :)

Also got the ridiculously small <cough> Saturn joystick. Man, this thing is insanely large, I'd completely forgotten about it until now:

Unfortunately all my other stuff is at my parents' house somewhere. Will have to see what else I've got sometime.

Some really nice Saturn stuff in the thread now :)

I still have mine with 30 games but I REALLY want a copy of Nights lol I love that game and never had it, just the demo.

In answer to chewyuks problem, I have a similar problem with mine on occasion. The Saturn comes apart fairly easily and I give it a basic maintenance, regrease the cogs and clean the reading lens and its all good again. :)

Yeah I was playing it earlier today. Tried it with the standard joypad for the hell of it and it's really weird. Definitely need the analogue pad to play it properly, even if it is the size of Australia.

Looking forward to so good old retro action this week :)

Wow, that's the first US SNES I've seen in recent years that isn't completely yellowed up.

I thought only the ones from Japan were that shape I can see I was wrong as it reads Super Nintendo instead of Super Famicom.

At the moment Im ploughing my way through oracle of ages on the game boy colour. So far its been fantastic (on the 4th dungeon).

what region is it ?

I think you might be mis understanding me to whats sealed i meant that the secrets are still sealed, not the entire game. I wanna play the thing any way. its pal.

My gf picked up a game boy light the other day.... not the ds lite but the game boy light :P

Lovely bright green screen, seems to be pretty rare to find one in europe.

Yeah it's in pretty good nick. It is slighly yellowed towards the back, the flash on the camera sems to have washed a lot of the colour out of the picture. Sadly the case has two chips in it right on the front corners :( Does anyone khow how to get rid of yellowing? Can you use some kind of harsh solvent to get rid of it?

I managed to pick up a Nes game today called Wizards and warriors from the local bootsale for 10p in a box full of tat.I love picking up cheap cartridges and they always work.I am gona try find a neo geo pocket now as i wanted one of those for ages.
