Retro console and games thread

Due to my other failed Saturn buy where the lens was broken, I have since been able to get myself a Model 1 Saturn with 8 games, two pads and a light gun. All for the sum of £10! :D So i'm happy!

All I need now is Guardian Hereos and Virtua On and my plan will be complete! :p

Is Guardians Heros a side scrolling Beatem up I think I may have herd of it before? Dead or Alive hit the saturn too you know but I could only get a japan version when I used have a Saturn. The Satern version was more like the arcade version unlike the version on the playstion.

Don't let the thread die yet! :p

Thought i'd add mine, I haven't got pics yet but I thought i'd list them:

One of those old 70's consoles (can't remember the name) that had tennis, squash, etc, bit like Pong
ZX Spectrum +
ZX Spectrum +3 (both of these with loads of games)
Multiface 3 for the +3, and loads of other peripherals
Nintendo NES with lightgun
Nintendo Gameboy, 4 or 5 games, and a thing that goes over the screen to magnify and illuminate it!
Commodore Amiga A500+ (up in the loft somewhere with the Speccys)
Jap Megadrive 1 (has a problem though as I tried to run it off an incorrect adapter once :( )
Sony Playstation (the original, still works as well!)
Megadrive 2 - cost about £3 off eBay :D
N64 with Memory upgrade, games such as Perfect Dark etc.
Dreamcast with keyboard, lightgun and a number of games

I keep meaning to get some of these out and try them on my projector - some of them would look a bit silly probably due to the low resolution of the graphics!!

Also, I have an arcade machine which must be considered retro really - Electrocoin Goliath Mk3. I bought it back in October last year, and I've got at least 60 pcbs now for it! I haven't been counting, but it must've cost me a fortune! I just got another box through from America the other day with Commando, Ring King, Primal Rage, Tekken 2, Crystal Castles, and Crime City!
If that wasn't bad enough, i've just bid on some more - 720 degrees, Paperboy, Namco Classic Collection 1 and 2 and 10 Yard Fight :o :D .

Still keeping the thread alive :)

I am watching several auctions still at the moment for 3 or 4 different handheld consoles, I have decided to collect those first and worry about full size later (too much space taken up!)

Here is what I have if anyone wishes to offer me any cheap ;)

...its really rough (that pics not mine btw) but the guy assures me it works, it only cost £0 anyway so even if it doesn't what the hell!. Be nice if it did though as i think they are a bit of a rarity.

You'll need to post pics when its up and running.

Hopefully it runs and doesn't try to kill me when i plug it in :D. Got to leave it to dry off a bit as it started hissing down when i went to pick it up!.

That's a nice machine you've got there! For £0 it's got to be the cheapest ever - those machines are worth at least £100 if not more!

Here's my machine, it's an Electrocoin Goliath Mk3, you can rotate the screen with ease.

That's an old pic, taken just after I got it. I've taken the cling wrap off now :D , got a proper "Unigame" original marquee, and i'm still looking for a proper overlay for the control panel (it shouldn't be metallic blue!).
I've got a fair few boards, not sure how many now but at a guess I'd say it's got to be around 100 or so. Problem is they take up a fair bit of room really!

Nice one!. I wouldn't mind getting hold of an empty standup cab sometime to swap my mame pc into...the missus has said it can live in the corner of the living room if i sort out all of my carp and decorate...
:D

This thread makes me sad because I am in the middle of selling up all my retro stuff and each time I send out another box a part of my childhood goes with it :( .

I have already sold my nes, snes, mastersystem, gamegear, n64 and my neo geo cd.

next to go this week is my Saturn and md/mcd still clinging to my dreamcast I would sell my 360 before I lose that :D
