Retro console and games thread

The uk saturn pal is 50hz which is slower in every aspect. If u run a jap game the sound is right n gfx lag behind as they all do 60hz so to run them right u need the mod

Also means no dirty PAL black borders lol

This. Shame the model two is harder to mod than the model one but it's not impossible. Glad to see you can get modchips for both now; my grey 1994 launch Jap saturn is fully loaded with a VCD card, Action Replay Max and a mod chip so I don't have to pay a ridiculous amount for Radiant Silvergun :p

I thougt the model 2 was far easier than model 1 due to the position of the sw4 jumper pads and mobo revisions

A little bit of me still wants a grey jap saturn lol

I hate you all, found this thread and decided to go looking for additional snes games - managed to win a bid on Killer Instinct and am now awaiting delivery :D - had a recent feeling to dig out my old snes and now want to find a few games that killed a lot of time and I had fun playing - killer instinct and metroid were both games my cousin had that we played a lot of, such a shame I dont have an old crt (tbh dont have any bloody room for one)

I'l post some pics up when I get it going

I know I play mine constantly, the ps3 has been heavily ignored thanks to Super Metroid and Secret of Mana recently.

Some of mine are boxed up but megadrive, dreamcast, n64 and saturn are all setup in the front room. About to move the crystal xbox in too lol

Had some good games back in the day although I remember stopping playing things like jet force gemini and donkey 64 because they had a grind just before the end of the game! Also mario kart 64 was way harder than the used ones! (I blame my sticky thumbstick...)

Note selling super mario 64 with all 120 stars captured!

Just finished mystical ninja geomon (last boss) again, what a game!

Games where a lot harder back in the day, sadly Ive forgot most the humorous plot.

My most retro item yet, not had a chance to try it yet as it needs 6 D batteries!

Also some CD32 action, not mine though unfortunately.

Were there any differences between the Amiga 500 and CD32 version of games? E.g. such as The Chaos Engine? (superb game)

Might get a better intro with the CD32 but I imagine the game play is exactly the same. Some games may have made use of the extra buttons on the controller.

load times are most likely the biggy arent they? no floppies to switch over :)

btw if anyone is looking for an action replay for the saturn i have one up in the MM :)
