Retro console and games thread

Nice. Does it have the Point Blank demo?

I picked up Res Evil 4 for the GC earlier in the week (wasn't really a bargain but was all complete in nice shape and a game i've never played) and today picked up Nemesis (the Konami Shooter) on Original Gameboy. Must break out the cube and gameboy player to try both out.

Right guys, never played or owned an Xbox of any kind but love Halo... Had it for the PC and played the death out of it... So what do I need to get the series...

Does a 360 play original Xbox games eg halo one, was Halo 2 released on original or 360?

And whats the full order of the series?

Thanks

And that Klonoa... Amazing! Onlybever played the demo but wanted the game soooo bad!! Just too expensive and cant justify it now :(

Christ, I used to be surrounded by copies of Klonoa (and other now "rare") PSone titles when I worked in a local indy in the 90s.

Some of the prices now are most surprising.

Nice find with Klonoa, seen some really silly prices with this game. Got this one the other day.

Also got given a PS2 slim and a few games. No interesting games but the console and pad were perfect.

I've been shopping around for Metal Gear Solid and the Resident Evil games (1, 2 & 3) for the PS1 and they're incredibly hard to find. Not only that but the shops round here have them in for £15 a pop, want them but no way in hell am I paying that much!

You can play them all on the 360.

The order goes:

***, Halo, Halo 2, Halo ODST, Halo 3, ***, Halo 4.

*** = Reach, you can either play Reach before Halo 1, or after Halo 3.

Perfect! Many thanks... now to look out for some cheap copies and a console :D

Halo Wars is the first if you are bothered about that one. Play ODST before Halo 3 as well. The full order is -

Halo Wars
Halo Reach
Halo: Combat Evolved
Halo 2
Halo 3: ODST
Halo 3
Halo Spartan Assault
Halo 4

These 4 Showed up today. Really happy to finally own a copy of Super Star Soldier on the PC Engine. I can finally start to practice my 2min Caravan high score.

Alien Storm has awesome box artwork!

I forgot about Wars, I didn't know Spartan Assault had a story, brought it back in January when it was on sale and still haven't played it. Even more annoying is the fact that it went on games for good not long after.

Hi woofercooker,

I saw your post today but could only reply now due to being at work. I still can if you want some advice on CRT's and Broadcast monitors. I feel I have some good knowledge on them.

My question to you is what systems were you looking to use on a CRT.

Hi, i don't currently own any retro systems but recently seem to have caught the bug an want re re live my youth lol. i would be looking to play snes, megadrive, saturn, dreamcast and at some point i want to try and get a neo geo arcade board running.

The broadcast monitors intrigued me as people have said they are significantly better than regular crt's, however all the connections on the back that ive seen from pictures confused the hell out of me. but i would still like to learn how to connect them etc, i like to learn as i go so currently im trying to find out which is the best monitor to go for, im hearing everybody say sony pvm's but there are also loads of different models which again is confusing.

If you can point me in the right direction on what i should be looking for that would be great, want to start of by choosing a good monitor, can you comment of the difference between the broadcast monitors and good old crt tv's are they really that much better? If so is there any you would recomend?
