Retro console and games thread

I have one of those and nothing to play it on!

No wii?
I have my nieces wii at the moment, I modded it. But it can play gc games without modding. Got two gc controllers from a carboot for 1 or 2 pounds before everyone went crazy as smash came out for the wii u (I saw one today selling for £25 pounds), and I picked up a memory card for £2.50.

I think one game alone would cost me more on Nintendo virtual console. :)

I got rid of my Wii, I am trying to clear out a lot of stuff.

The Double Dash/Zelda combo will be going on sale at some point.

They really are rather rather nice :) good work

I have secured 2 rarer pal Saturn titles this week in the form of Tetris plus and Primal Rage. Always had a soft spot for rage in the arcade and apparently the Saturn version is the best console port :)

Only around an hour away from you, I regularly go and I'm about 60 miles away.

Going next weekend as it happens.

How about getting a Amstrad MP-3 Modulator i had one waaaaaaaaaaayy back in the day

do I actually need this ?

seen a scart cable for the Amstrad for £11

need to figure out if I should keep all that Amstrad stuff, only cost me £25, dunno if I should purchase the scart lead, check out the Amstrrad to see if it works?

Can anyone help me out.

Sat down today to replace the batteries on some SNES carts, rather then just replace the batteries, I though I'd put in a battery holder. However, the battery holders I've bought are too fat.

Can anyone link me some battery holders that will do the job?

How are they too fat mate? Can you get a picture up to explain?

Here's what I'm trying to do.

SNES%20Battery.jpg

I want to put in a holder, rather then solder a new battery. But the holders that I've bought are too tall. Too big for me to shut the cart.

Trim the plastic and use a dab of glue to hold the battery to the contact? Just enough that if it needs replacing again the glue holding it will just snap off.

Almost seems to defeat the point of the holder though.

Been going through ebay to see how much all that Amstrad stuff is worth

so far, no lightpen
no speech synthesizer (although there only 1 but its fully boxed)

no Elite

im not doing very well
is it worth what I paid ? hmm

I'd look at removing the contacts in the holder and trimming from the bottom of the holder. Might just be cheaper and less hassle to by some slimmer holder though.
