Megaman 2 was the only game in he franchise I played back in the day (played X recently on Wii)

Fantastic game, clocked it a few times, but even now, I can remember certain parts in the stages, or bosses, I couldn't beat without taking damage.

Hi guys, just after some advice regarding selling my retro collection. I think I know the options already but thought I would double check with you all as some of you seem to buy stuff weekly.

I have quite a vast collection of consoles and games that I would like to sell, I won't post it up here as it could look like I am trying to sell out of the mm. the thing is I unsure how to sell the whole lot without making a massive loss. selling games individually and sending them off through the post seems far too time consuming. bundle sales in eBay or Gumtree don't really fetch much.

I just want a fair price but for large bundles as I don't want to post separately. any ideas?

Bundles always seem to sell for less anyway, no matter where you sell. So to get the best prices you have to be prepared to put the effort in and sell separately.

Ebay will generate the best prices, even after you take off fees, because it's the largest market to be selling in.

But there's the risk of dodgy buyers claiming they didn't receive their items if you don't use recorded delivery on everything.

At least with Gumtree you can advertise to a wider market than on the MM here, you deal face to face and it's free to sell.

Carboot sale is an option, but again you maybe won't sell your items if your prices are too high.

Selling to places like Cash Converters or CEX means you will only get a fraction of the market value.

The MM here is an option, but you'll get less money than eBay and most potential buyers will ask you to split your bundles anyway.

I suppose a lot depends on what you actually have and if it's the sort of stuff that sells.

If it was me then I'd start with Gumtree and the MM and see how it went.

It can be slow going to get stuff sold on the MM, but at least in the console section it doesn't move very fast so you don't have to keep dropping prices to stay on the first page.

Ebay's fee of 10% and 4% for Paypal is quite high. Always send recorded.
Gumtree is free so worth a punt.
I'd imagine the MM here is the least hassle.

Please do not use Cash Converters or Cex. It seems only desperate people sell their goods to them. I have bought very little from Cex as the prices are always appalling.

Oh it is :)

The problem is now, I have to get another PSU as I was told that the PSU that came with the GX4000 may blow it up

It can! This was the first console I ever owned, it never worked because i connected and turned it on in the wrong order. Dead without ever loading a game. I was in trooouuuble!!

thanks for the advice guys. I will try and take pics of everything and put it up for sale on Gumtree and the mm.

going to be a long process but its worth too much to just shift to cex.

Please try MM first :).
Some keen collectors on here.

Say for the sake of arguement you'd get £100 including postage on MM, Cex would give you £60 and sell for £130.

I really have no idea why people use Cex. There is just no way their prices can ever be good when they are buying used goods, paying shop overheads and staff wages. There are just so many better alternatives.

Does anyone have any tips for cracking open a SNES? Mine has been dropped and a chunk of plastic casing needs glueing back together around the edge. Have tried the methods on Google (melting a plastic pen and molding it over the screws) but that doesn't work.

Got a Mastersystem, Megadrive & PS1 on their merry way to me in the post - also won a load of MG games inc Sensi Soccer and Cannon Fodder.

Building my boy a retro gaming station. Got a huge collection of old consoles I've been putting together for him.

I think I'm more exited than he will be!

Will post pics once its sorted :)

Picked this lot up today, traded in a few old xbox 360 games in at cex and got credit to get the psp games and galaxy 2, but my local grainger games had some intresting ps2 titles had never seen kings field before so picked it up and it seems pretty rare.
