Retro console and games thread

I'm gutted. My parents moved last year and actually threw out my 464+ I actually had the colour monitor and around 70 games on tape.

How much was that?

I'm sure I picked up one local in the summer, but I think it was the normal 466 with monochrome monitor, that I had to fiddle with it to make it work, as there wasn't enough power getting to the Amstrad as the monitor power lead is plugged into the Amstrad, so I bought a new power unit to take the load of it, and it worked, so I sold it on ebay

Got a spare Amstrad CPC 464 now, cleaned it all up ( It was very manky, covered in dust inside, dead spider, spiderweb and bum fluff :p ). All lovely now, what's even more fantastic is, it works!!! It does need a new tape belt, which has been ordered for my 464 and this one.

Yuk

Nice

Housey and Neil79 - those are some very impressive collections - very envious :)

Found the MegaDrive stuff - not quite as much stuff as I remember and no official pads!

Most gutting of all is the MD switches on but the games don't load :( Have tried cleaning the carts and the slot but it's not playing ball!

Sweet games mate :)

This is what I did today

Tape Deck - Fixed
Keyboard Membrane - Fixed
Carts - Will need a Contact Cleaner as two out of three are faulty

Didnt realise Super Skidmarks came out on Megadrive. I thought it was an Amiga exclusive.

I had it on the Amiga too which is pretty sure why I ended up getting it on the Mega Drive. It's also got the extra controller ports built in like MicroMachines for 4 player goodness :)

I'l put up some pics of some of my other machines soon. Dragon 32, 64 anyone? ZX80/ZX81? Atari Games console, but not the one you think? Atari 400/800? I could go on :D

It.

Anyone else find it scary that Game Cubes and PS2's are classed as retro?

Got a spare Amstrad CPC 464
Nice - brings back memories from my childhood. It was my first computer; I bought it from Dixons in 1988 with the colour monitor for about £400 and had it until 1993 when I bought a SNES.

So many hours coding and playing games on it.
