Retro console and games thread

I was playing on my N64 for a little while last night, I played a bit of goldeneye and Lylat Wars, damn i love those games :D

I really need to re-buy Killer Instinct Gold why I sold that game I have no idea :(

Things are really starting to come together now:

Next big step is getting the lockdown bar / side rails and glass in.

Just found my NES in a box, forgot I still had it!

1x Console
2x Controllers

Games:

Power Blade
Teenage Mutant Here Turtles II Arcade Game
Spiderman Return of the Sinster Six
Days of Thunder
Ghostbusters 2
Mickle Cubicle
Wrestle Mania Steel Cage Challenge
Dr Mario
Shadowgate
Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles
Jackie Chans Action Kung Fu
Bad dudes VS Dragonninja
WWF Wrestlemania
Defender of the Crown
Robocop

Any of these valuable?

Just ordered a scart cable for it. Also missing the power cable, sellers want £12 plus for one. Does this not seem excessive!?!

right thinking about getting into dc/saturn collecting.
a question: does anyone know how common fake vmus and controllers are?
i keep on looking around ebay and see loads of people selling boxed new vmus and controllers? surely there cant be loads still around in bulk?

Seems odd that he's sold that many brand new, but he's got good feedback. Maybe he just bought up a load from somewhere after the dreamcast got discontinued.

That said, it's only a fiver, and if they turn out to be fake I'm sure you'd be able to get your money back through paypal. Might have a look myself actually. :)

Look what the postman dropped off this morning, my latest bit of retroness! NTSC-U Green Donkey Kong 64 Edition N64! :D Surprisingly it doesn't look too bad on the big screen.

PS: Ignore the terrible photography! Off to play DK64! :D

I've just bought a pal N64 from the big auction place, looking forward to getting it in a few days and it'll sit nicely next to my Snes :)

I've checked out this sellers stuff quite a few times he sells all sorts of old skool stuff brand new I think his brought out loads of old stock, his got a few sealed DC games n stuff on there.

With the way the DC went out I wouldn't be surprised if there was still a lot of sealed dc stuff floating around in wear houses, or it could be fake? Either way I'm gonna purchase a few bits from this seller when I get paid.

I just got myself a fair few bits and bobs recently including an Atari Lynx, Neo Geo, SNES, N64 and GBA SP.

Loaded up Starwing/fox the other day, I tell you, it nearly brought a tear to my eye when I played it. Even today it just oozes playability :)

I really need to stop looking at this thread cause i am currently digging out my N64 and looking on ebay for some games i missed out on when i was younger. I'd love to get a dreamcast just for MSR + a few others

I hear games take an age to load on the NeoGeoCD zuludawn?
Have you got everything permanently setup or do you swap out the consoles whenever you feel like having a game or two?

Neo CD yes is a pain on its loading times but you can down load all the games from the net so that makes up for it (well it dont its a pain in the arse on fighting games)

Consoles in a big box, brought them cause i had them when a was a teen, just one of them things when you in your forties.

Nice one. I tell you, games from consoles of yester-decade are still playable and enjoyable as ever.

You not wrong there on PS3 you can now even get a few Neo Geo games for £7.99 each, have some Arcade classics like GalaRemix on the Ipad. You can play old Sega direct on PC from here http://www.playsega.co.uk/games/. Plus using Hyperspin on PC with 59 gig of retro games with my X-Arcade Stick.
On saying that you only play an odd few for a few mins, just to remember them good old days or just listen to some of them old Amiga game tunes.
