Retro console and games thread

Stepdad has PS3, but it's his, in his little cubby hole of old consoles from Vic 20 upwards.

yeah I see, that's a good price.

Popped down to my local retro game shop, got Medieval for.. £6 :)

Zippy, I've sent you an email via trust regarding some of your loft finds!

I have replied to your message :)

Also I stumbled across some games

Japanese PS1 games

Found this Japanese Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec reference guide but can't seem to find the game, maybe one of my family members stole it lol

Been looking about today and starting to get the itch for a Japanese grey saturn. Because A: they look awesome and B: I can finally play king fighters 95 lol

Aswell as this it has been a hunt day for saturn games I want.

UK:
The horde
Hang on GP
toshinden
Rayman
WWF Arcade game
Baku Baku Animal
Dark Saviour

There are a pile of imports I would love too

I think the saturn is going to become my focus point

Never had a Saturn.

I jumped the Sega ship and bought a PlayStation.

It's only now you realise that the Saturn had all the best 2D games and they've stood the test of time. Whereas a lot of the PlayStation stuff I loved the the first time around hasn't ages well at all.

Now you need a second mortgage for some of the best 2D Saturn games.

barmyllama I've got a chance to get a b&o tv like yours. It's either that or a wee lcd that has an s video input. For playing n64 and GC games, I've got ntcs-j n64 and GC coming and also an NTSC Wii(with GC ports) coming. What's gonna be best for picture quality? Also I'm not wanting the expensive GC cable haha.

Also the guys saying this b&o tv is like 70+kg. That doesn't seem right, is it? 28".

I would go scart and crt all day long and 70kg might well be tight if it's the 28" with stand

Component will work with the jap cube yep.....you got to find a cheap enough cable :(

I've got a copy of Initial D too sitting on my shelf. It's and awesome racer. I used to play it loads on the arcade. You could buy a paper card that would save your game. I need to get a Japanese PS2 now too haha

You'll be very lucky to find a component cable for the GC cheap. They were never made 3rd party, only nintendo made them. RGB is very nice of the GC so stick with that.

No digital output on the GameCube sadly. But I don't want the component cable. It's too much to justify that price. That's why it's either scart on the crt or s video on a lcd. Just dunno if I should pull the trigger on a crt which would mostly be used for n64, or the lcd with s video port. I've got the wii ntsc that's GameCube compatible. So I could play GC games on that. Not sure if the wii component cable upgrades the quality to near enough GC component cable quality.

Doesn't look like the TV has a stand, he's just got it on a table.

That looks cumbersome. Let me take that off your hands for 5 shiney pennies.

:D nice try lol

Oh I only just realised that took a photo of the "rubbish" side of the Dead or alive 2 sleeve!!

I think you will all agree that this side is much better ;)

Hahaha that magical loft of yours. You certainly have a lot of nice stuff. What else you got up there? You got a CIB Ballon Fight for the famicom up there?

I know I still got my NES console up there somewhere.
I did have a R.O.B. too but not sure if it's up there or it was given away.
I don't think I had Balloon Fight.
Unfortunately my nearly all my NES games were passed on to family members a long, long time ago. I was too young to care about keeping them for the future so just passed them on as I got something newer.

I had another quick dig around the loft again tonight and found some more goodies.

First Gameboy and 2 Gameboy colors
Shame the Gameboy has stickers plastered all over it!
If only I could build a time machine and go back and tell my younger self not to to that! lol

A few more Gameboy games

Gameboy Advance and games

Gameboy Advance SP
