Retro console and games thread

I use one, and yes it does output RGB as you described.

It was recommended on here and I can't see any image degradation between using it and connecting to the TV directly.

Thats it! The one i found is £12 and silver but same name. I may go for it, or just get a black new one not sure!

I guess i need a rgb scart to go from the tv to the unit aswell then, doesnt look to be included

I see someone has a nice collection of the master system 1 plus with a ton of stuff up for sale

just wish I had £300, looks like a collectors dream

just remember master system stuff never really took off colleters wise. many games never fetched much.

mk1 that are clean are okay but its not really a great area for collecting.if its for investment.better gooing for snes upwards.

After posting about the 2 quid PlayStation I picked up, I was then in Derry for a week and then been back at work!

Got round to sorting it all out, couple of missing disks, but I removed them from before taking pictures... couple of disks with no boxes either!

^^

Great pick up.

Pandemonium was a great game.

This arrived today, works on the Mega Drive, SNES and PC Engine. Normally you only see them on eBay from Japanese sellers and they cost around £100 delivered. This one was from a UK seller and was over £30 cheaper. Still a lot of money for a stick, but probably cheaper than buying one for each system and it's by Hori.

Got a massive joblot of a Retro collection to pickup tonight from a local seller.

Will post pics later, will be loads of consoles, accessories and games!

OK I picked up a tonne of stuff tonight, let me give a little context.

So I got this from a Retro Gaming buy/sell group on Facebook for Isle of Man locals. I've bought from this lad before, he's very nice and knows the value of his stuff but seems unwilling to put the effort in to take good photos/list on auction sites etc.

For instance, i'd previous bought Sunset Riders, Turtles in Time and Contra III (US SNES games) for approx £40 and i flipped them for £150.

So anyways, he's now listing a couple of consoles and some games (Dreamcast and SNES to be specific) so he has my attention. Within a few mins, he's listed what looks like an entire collection :eek:

I made him a ball-park offer, slightly lowball as his pictures are so bad that I can't see what everything he's selling. He needs the money desperately to replace a knackered car. My offer for everything he is selling gets through the competition, rather than others who were trying to cherry-pick. I collected tonight, and it's marvellous. I'll post a few pics at a time as there are lots to get through;

Part I

The collection, barely got it all in the car, thought I was going to have to come back for my other half :p

A fine batch of Mega Drive/Mega CD games, see any that you had back in the day?

I'll leave it there for now, will post some more tomorrow, but without spoiling too much, there are more Mega Drive games and a bunch of other formats. :D

van damn that's insane. much Jealous.

Everytime somebody posts in this thread it hurts. over the years i've had to get rid of all my old consoles. My modified atari 800 xl and accessories, my mega drive with rgb / stereo rca output and 40+ games, my snes, my hong kong n64 that ran on 240v and played US games...all because of a lack of space when i moved out of the parents old house. That was years ago, not long after this thread first started and i regret it more every day lol.

A lot's changed since then of course. I'm in a 3 bed semi now, but with a wife and two kids. So still no space :p a man cave filled with consoles and whatnot will come in the form of a shed at the bottom of the garden, but that's a while off yet. In the mean time, i broke my ps3 slim recently so im going to gut it and install a raspberry pi 3 for some retro goodness. not quite authentic classic gaming but it'll do the job and i can keep it under the tv without the wife moaning :p

OK, time for update #2

Part II

So we got a cool bunch of Nintendo stuff, lots of great Gamecube stuff, including 2 x Consoles, 2 sets of Bongos and particularly pleased to get Fire Emblem which is a £100 approx game these days.

Then we have a bundle of loose N64 carts, and a gorgeous Icy clear blue Console, never had a non-grey N64 so really happy to find this, shame the controllers aren't matching. Getting Diddy Kong complete in Box is also pretty cool.

And for good measure, a few more Mega Drive games that missed the initial batch from yesterday;

Highlights of the batch ;

- Zelda: Ocarina of Time
- Banjo Kazooie & Banjo Tooie
- Clear Blue Ice N64 console
- Fire Emblem for Gamecube (£100 value)
- Gynoug for Mega Drive, more for nostalgia but a great shooter.

Thats all for today, but there is LOADS more to come. Will update the thread again tomorrow morning. Have a great weekend, folks.

A bit of both, Kinger. Definitely don't want all of it as my personal collection is boxed/complete only. I'm dumping £2k on a new gaming PC soon so a bit of profit would be nice, but not necessary.

I got this via a buy/sell on Facebook. Just have to keep your eye out.

In other news, I've just won a boxed Japanese Mega Drive on auction for $15+$22 postage. Amazing value!

Update III

A small batch this time as I'm about to head out the door, but some good stuff here. Unboxed SNES with a bunch of loose carts, including Super Metroid! But we have a mint boxed Mario AllStars and Donkey Kong Country!

Plus a final batch of Mega Drive carts, including Cool Spot goes to Hollywood, which if auction site is to be believed, appears to be semi-rare/expensive!

Will post some more later today. Have a good'un.
