Retro console and games thread

Right folks! I got around £16 of ebay vouchers which I need to spend.
So spec me some retro console/game thingy :) Preferably good condition and dont mind paying a little extra (say around 40 or 50ish).

Off you go! :D

Hmm got a boxed SNES, boxed Famicom and Famicom Jr. So those are out Im afraid :)

I was looking for a decent condition boxed Super Mario World but couldnt find one :(
Zelda LTTP possibly another? Neogeo games? etc

Not bad ideas actually! The A600 had me intrigued but it is a bit battered and yellow :(
I do have a Saturn already thats in quite good nick I must say.

I was thinking of picking up SF3 Third Strike for the DC. But theyre about £40 :(

Ok, I've got some old consoles out and out of the 2 Saturns I have, neither work! The first one wont read any discs at at all. The 2nd one reads them fine but the sound is all funny. Kinda like its run out of batteries! Anyone got any ideas?

They're both different models too so I'm not even sure about swapping the lens over from the one which reads discs into the one which doesn't (which the sound is fine on)

Just had 2 things delivered for my N64 that come under some of the most exciting things for the console :D

Goemon's great adventure is mystical ninja 2 over here which to get boxed with a manual is well over £40, so iv got the us version for £30 :) this is one of the game's iv been most looking forward to playing again as I rented it back when I was 11 and didn't realise how hard it would be to get a decent copy of (other wise id have bought it from the rental place when it closed down years ago).

The other is Sin and Punishment (also £30) which is a Jap release only, iv played the dreamcast version of a similar game (I think) and really can not wait to see a game that iv read a lot about when it wasn't brought over here. :D

Just waiting for the passport 3 to come, or to win a reasonably priced ntsc n64

Ok went for this at the end :)

Cost me £4 ontop at the end. Immaculate condition!
Absolute classic this game :)

Just picked up a working dreamcast with two controllers for £7 at a Sunday Market

Came with it's leads as well and some really naff games :p

Right. This thread needs a bump!

Got a load of retro or retro related (old games on current consoles) stuff recently:

GBA
Gunstar Heros Future

GB
FF Legend 3

PS1
Alundra
SaGa Frontier 2

XBox
Sudeki

SNES
Secret of Mana
Equinox
Illusion of Time

Mega Drive
Robocop vs Terminator
Classic Collection: Gunstar Heroes, Altered Beast, Alex Kidd and Flicky

PSP
FF 1
FF 2
FF 4

PS3
Mega Drive Classics

DS
Chrono Trigger

I've also set up my "Retro Corner" which is basically my MD, SNES, N64, GC, Xbox and PS2 permanently linked up to the 32" CRT Trinitron TV I was given (I've left my DC and PS3 by my computer as they look better through VGA/HDMI respectively). So all I've got to do if I get a retro pang is to get a controller and a game, plug them in and play.

I might post pics if I have the time to get round to it!

I'm also putting together a MD bundle for sale so look out for that on MM in the near future :p

Bah, got a package when I got home. I excitedly opened it hoping for Secret of Mana, the rainforest seller sent me the Japanese version. It was listed in the the super nintendo section with no mention of this. So I now have a super FAMICOM game that is not even called secret of mana (the japanese version is called Seiken Densetsu 2). He then sent me an email so basically say tough.

I hope the rainforest favors buyers as much as ebay :(

ugh, hes now dragging his heals. I've filed a claim. He has no evidence and is trying to convince me that SoM is Seiken Densetsu 2 when no japanese game called secret of mana was released.

I'm a little confused when the first google entry for that is -

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secret_of_Mana

"Secret of Mana, known as Seiken Densetsu 2 (聖剣伝説2?, lit. "Holy Sword Legend 2") in Japan"

I'm not sure who is arguing for what :)
