Gamecube haul!

eternal darkness "sanity's requiem".
ikaruga.
metroid prime.
metroid prime 2 "echoes".
resident evil.
tales of symphonia.
viewtful joe
zelda "the wind waker".

Got to find a way of stopping myself :(

i got out my gameboy and gameboy colour the other day so i decided to buy mario land 2 from the bay, playing it on the colour, loving it. cant beat the gameboy for handhled gaming.

Just got another few additions to my retro collection

Sega saturn and 5 games in mint condition
Sega megadrive, aladdin and sonic 2 ( had a megadrive and never used it but couldnt say no for a fiver)
so along with my ps1 ps2 and gamecube ive decided to create a retro 'MAME' cab with a mame pc booting up to a frontend and shelving inside for consoles and games, just got to make a decision on an old slim crt or trying to connect old games consoles to a tft monitor

Very nice, those are all really good games :)
Eternal Darkness is one of the few games thats really made me feel uncomfortable and the bath scene...

Zelda is just excellent in a lot of places, there are some downsides like the treasure hunt at the end, and the graphics were mixed tastes, but it had some real....'woah' moments :)

I've got all of them except RE...not sure they're all playable though as family and foster kids have damaged a lot of the discs :(

Definitely!!

This thread doesn't deserve to be on the third page!

Picked up Odin Sphere for PS2, Riviera (port of a GBA game) and Breath of Fire 3 (port from PS1 iirc) for the PSP last week. I'm looking at getting hold of the Ys games soon too.

thought i should update now ive got my retro/MAME cab constructed just needs sanding and paining before i get my hardware ordered

Currently in the process of sorting out what consoles i currently have; Gamecube, PS2, PS1, Saturn, Dreamcast and a Megadrive, i may have to move the shelves about to allow access to atleast 2 more as ive never had an N64 and a SNES is a must have imo

few pics:

Specs of the pc are an old AMD64 3000+ 1GB DDR and a 6600GT connected to a truflat CRT so i can get a decent lightgun collection

there are parts im not happy with as the TV surround is slightly off and the speakers still need covering but these things are going to be left until its decorated and i can add some finishing touches

with regards games for my retro collection i have a few for each console that came with them but nothing to great just yet, that will come once the cab is upto my standard

dude, is that a MAME cabinet, but also one which you can play the original consoles in?!??!?!?

Yeah it has a mame pc stored around the back, it boots straight into mamewah and once its decorated i will be getting the gear to wire in the controls for mame but will have a simple scart switcher on the side for any console gaming, there is just enough of a gap to allow for the controller leads to pop through without getting damaged.

With it being both retro and mame my wife is decorating one side with console game characteurs and the other with arcade.

Im also getting a pair of bar stools for long play and getting stocked up on light gun games too.

£40 and no box :(

Still want it though.... (and shenmue 2)

There is also a reserve on it now! I'm sure that wasn't there yesterday :(

I'm not too bothered about the box as I tend to just collect N64 games without boxes for space saving reasons, when you have nearly 100 N64 games you need all the room you can get lol :p

absolutely brilliant mate, you have the best of both worlds with mame to play any titles you havn't got on your consoles! i'm a fan of emulators, but i'm an even bigger fan of having the original console and game!

The fact your wife is willing to help just makes me sigh lol, mine would take a million favours back and years of persuasion to let me build such a thing, and it'd only be yes if we had a suitable room for it! What room are you putting it in?

Its going in the back (spare) bedroom/computer room along with the pc and my guitar and amp (my recently modified amp is in the back of the pic and my guitar is on the wall to the left) luckily my misses is also a gaming nut herself so is happy to help and will use it a fair bit too just maybe with different games.

With regards emulators they will be used eventually but only on games that benefit joystick use as its all good that i can play most games on it but i cant imagine sonic/mario/zelda/castlevania etc... being the same with arcade controls they will also be used on games that are out of budget for retro collection as although im building a retro collection im not willing to spend more then i can get a new game for for a game nearly 20 years old in some cases.

On a side note a forth shelf is now installed and corners of the top 3 shelves trimmed in the rear corner to allow better access for wires.

Cheers for all the great comments guys :)
