lol this game is doing my head in, I got it going but the g27 profile isnt working. Also do I merge the tracks into the game folders?

edit: the g27 profile was working fine in the demo.

Did you change the Exe in the profiler to the new full game?

You mean to add tracks? Download them and extract to the gamedata\locations folder I believe.

Guys, i'm a total noob when it comes to rfactor. To be fair, you haven't made it very easy for beginners like myself to join.

To save the hassle of new comers reading the whole thread, The op needs editing to show the server name, ip , password, and all tracks needed and where exactly to put them. Bold coloured letters with a link to make it even easier for first time visitors to the thread.

It's a mess at the moment. I've read through this thread. Added tracks that have been put on here, tried to find the server name 'MIKE F1', only for it to be renamed OCUK half way through the thread, and the tracks i've downloaded have been removed from the server. Wasted loads of time basically.

Essential information is scattered all over the thread. If you want more people to join, make sure they can get it all working by reading just the first post.

Because it wouldn't let me activate the demo I had been playing, I deleted it and installed it again from download. It recognizes the G27 but doesn't have the settings profile that the demo had. I have been googling the problem and a lot of people are in the same boat. I copied the g27.ini from the demo disk and modified the settings a bit but cant recreate the feel that the demo had. For instance the rev counter lights don't work at all.

I worked out where to extract the new tracks to.

Yeah I got the game going now, but the full game doesn't have the same settings that the demo had, for some reason the g27 profile has disappeared and its hard to set it up manually.

Rebel, why is it hard to setup? In your logitech profiler, set your wheel rotation and spring rates to how you like them. You can always change this later. Leave stock apart from Wheel - 170 to 200 degrees is fine.

In rFactor, setup these buttons.

Turn left
Turn Right
Throttle
Brake
Clutch
Netural
Gear UP
Gear Down
Pit Limiter

You won't need any more than that to get started. Once you are happy and set load up Single player on any track and start making it suit you!

You can always setup other keys, like I personally use increase front and rear bias and have all the info buttons assigned so I can see Oil / Water temps etc. But that['s a personal thing. I don't need them, just makes me feel better

Looks like I won't be on tonight. I started downloading FSONE from megaupload and it crashed half way through, now megaupload says my download limit has been exceeded.

I still can't find the server. When i type in the server ip, it says 'no games found'

You're not being blind, rfactors server browser is terrible. It will only show around 400 servers, after it finds 400 any other servers will be ignored, so you just have to keep refreshing until you find it.

If you open in rfactor/userdata/*profile name*/multiplayer.ini (about 20 odd lines down) and edit the line that says "Concurrent Server Updates" to the value of 999, you should have a better chance of finding it.
