A very good gesture that some of the main polluters(Airlines) are giving a little back to help us all out in the long run.

Its called a way over due tax bill!!!!!!!!!! and should be annual!

The Virgin boss said he would commit all profits from his travel firms, such as airline Virgin Atlantic and Virgin Trains, over the next 10 years.
and
"We are very pleased today to be making a commitment to invest 100% of all future proceeds to the Virgin Group from our transportation interest, both our trains and airline businesses, into tackling global warming," he said.

Seems like a lot more than just a good gesture, and £3bn could help a lot!

Must be the new "in" thing to do for billionaires these days?

Does it matter whether it's for show or not though?

I certainly don't think so, and I hope others follow suit!

It definatly reinforces my view that Richard Branson is a quality d00d.

That's a gpd thing he's doing i guess.

Lolage at the post in this thread especially the two above mine.

Shhhh :p

But seriously i think it's good anytime someone with lots of excess money actually invests it in something that isnt themselves or their business

Doesn't look to me like he's donating a penny:

The funds will be invested in schemes to develop new renewable energy technologies, through an investment unit called Virgin Fuels.

Make no mistake, he's doing this to make money.
