It's a harsh fact of life though. We just dont care about people we don't know. We can't, or our lives would be a constant stream of sadness.

Sad fact is, I am more upset that the packet of extra special sausages I bought on Monday has gone out of date.

Very sad. Stroke in young persons is more common than people realise. It's one of the most tragic things to happen because even if you survive you can be severely disabled for the rest of your life. Makes me realise how lucky I am to have come through mine pretty much unscathed.

Personally, I'd rather donate money to a company that researches into stroke in young people.

It's sad but the gofundme thing is just weird. If she'd fallen on hard times, the kid's father was also dead and they'd failed to provide for the daughter then I could perhaps understand it but as it is, as previously mentioned, the money would be better off sent to a stroke charity or something.

It's a shame a young person has died, but being "famous" on social media doesn't really mean much to many people. I had no idea who she was until this post, that doesn't deem my money IMO, plus I'm sure her profession has enough money to cover her family?

It's tragic that people try to profit from sympathy.

True story, someone local to me lost his partner to cancer. He was obviously very upset. The landlord at the pub they went into said he would do a benefit evening for him to raise a few quid. This benefit evening raised £1200 for him. That would be lovely, if he weren't already a working electrician and a part time DJ clearing £800 a week.

I was gobsmacked. I would be way too embarrassed to accept any of that.
