RIP Katie May

Sad to hear someone losing their life but what makes it even more silly is that according to her go fund me page...113 idiots have managed to raise 13k

Well I'll make sure when I die that my family starts a go fund me page and make some money to live on when I die \0/.

Giving money on compassionate grounds is never idiotic. Please adjust your moral compass.

So the deceased was the OPs favourite Instagram fap material?

People die all the time, this really isn't newsworthy nor is the financial gain appropriate.

I have no idea who she is but she was 34. Now I shiver.

Strange things happen when you go over a certain age. That value is numerically higher for some or lower for others.

I have her, at least for now. Hold them close.

OK;
Some random 34 year old died. So what.

Some random 34 year is dead. Holy moley; both my wife and I are considerably older! Is time precious? Could you validate that for me?

Go on I'll bite, what are you on about?

Hahaha no you are right, it's not idiotic but beyond idiotic especially for someone like this person. And no thanks my moral compass does not need to be adjusted. To me this is not compassionate grounds, I can think of more compassionate things to donate to but this??? Not a chance in hell.

I imagine she was pretty well off so no her child does not need handouts but if people want to fall for it and donate then that is their lookout.

It's sad, but giving money to her daughter isn't going to help and asking for $100k is kinda greedy. They would have been better off setting up a go fund me for a charity or something. Give her daughter something to look back and be proud about. I wish them all the luck reaching the goal though.

True story, someone local to me lost his partner to cancer.

When my wife died of cancer I was asked about donations. I said either MacMillan or the local charity that looks after people during end of life. They did every night for a month. I had a 13 year old and a new born to look after (if it's tragedy top trumps, I'd win this round). Some people just wrote cheques out to me so I cashed them and handed cash cash to the charity.

Not nice going through that. The girl might be rich, might not be. I guess as she is known for social media the family thought it was appropriate to ask the world that made her 'famous' to cough up some green. Meh.

This would absolutely break me, my biggest fear.

Props to you. I'll donate a few pounds to MacMillan now.

I really don't care who she is or what she did but trying to profit from a death and the sympathy others feel for you is pretty damn low.

Flippant remarks about a persons death shows a lack of empathy all too common now. If you can't show respect retaliation is not a throw away cliché. People die. Show some humanity.
