CLOSED BETA WAVE 6 HIGHLIGHTSWe received and reviewed a lot of terrific feedback from the testing community, for Closed Beta Wave 5. Thanks again to the testing community! With that said, we wanted to take a moment to showcase some of the highlights you can expect in Closed Beta Wave 6.
Easy Anti Cheat – With this Beta wave we are introducing EAC (Easy Anti Cheat). This highly supported and successful system will co-exist with Valve Anti-Cheat (VAC) and will provide a stronger defense against 3rd party cheat software. Upon first load of the game, you will be required to install this software. Failure to install this software will not allow you to load the game.
Player Progression - Player progression and ranking up is now active. While there are known issues with this system, ranking up and unlocking character customization options is now implemented in RS2. Please continue to provide feedback and report bugs on this system, so we can look to address ASAP.
Client and Server Crash Fixes – We’ve addressed several client and server crash issues since CB5. Please continue to let us know on the forums if you still experience crash issues and what occurred right before the crash. We have logging in-house as well, but it never hurts to have that extra info!
Performance Optimization – Performance is key in any game and it’s at the top of the list for Vietnam. We’ve made some big strides in performance on several maps, including Hue City in particular. Performance optimization will continue to be an on-going effort but we’d love to hear back from the community on how their performance is in CB6. Remember to fill out that survey from the main menu!
Environment Collision – We’ve made sweeping environment collision fixes on various maps such as Hue City, An Lao Valley and Hill 937. These fixes were for when the character would experience getting stuck or blocked by collision. Please continue to report in the forums on locations you are still getting stuck or blocked by collision. Updates to collision will continue for all maps in future updates.
First Time Set-up – We’ve added a ‘first time prompt’ that will display on the first time you run the game. This screen will show you the default keyboard layout (Rising Storm Inspired) but will also allow you to seamlessly change to the (Classic RO2 inspired) layout.
Continued UI Updates – With another Beta wave comes another round of UI updates. The team selection screen and the scoreboard have received UI treatment. We’d love to hear your feedback on the forums for these 2 updates.
Continued Audio Updates – Several weapons and Helicopters have received updated audio treatment. We have also addressed several bugs and feedback from Closed Beta Wave 5.
Social Media – We want to make sure our news and updates are reaching all of the critical outlets and media platforms. As such, please be sure to visit and follow the following:
There is a lot more that has been addressed which will be covered in the full patch notes, but these are some of the highlights. As always, please continue to post feedback through the main menu survey, forums and social media platforms. We look forward to seeing you in-game!
