RMA problem. Please please help

I did. I attached a note to the card. Asked them on the phone twice aswell. TBH, the reply from HIS was kinda ruched ad felt like it was copied and pasted, however with all the problems i faced - it seemed pretty much correct.

Well it's a good sign that Killer UK wants me to post there. atleast i won't be ignored. Normally they do answer all my queries which is highly impressive seeing as i ask very many stupid, repetetive and impatient questions

I am oerfectly capable of building my own. I just seem to be really really unlucky with graphics cards. The last time a computer ****** up it was my dads fault as he decided to trh and format the main hdd. I have had many many more problems with a dell pc than i have had with my current one. I do admit that i do have a tendency to occasionaly ignore crucial facts but that isnt really a major problem most of the time.

You want my honest answer ? Send the whole computer to OCUK and get them to set it up working and don't fiddle with it after.

I think you are honestly not capable of setting up a PC.. again i'm not trying to be rude, but trying to help you solve this problem and all the time when you was showing us temps of the card you was using some utility to monitor the card that was not designed for the card. What you should have shown us is CCC and what it was showing.. From the video you also showed us the card never showed any signs of artifacts as it should have done if it really was hitting them tempertures. So you have 3 options really...

1. Ask for a refund and buy a new card (but i'm going to guess you will have same problems again, as you state with every graphics card you have ever had you had a problem with it in the end.)

2. Send the whole PC to OCUK and get them to set it up, it will cost you but atleast you will know it's done right.

3. Send the card back to His and ask them to check it.

OR take it to a friends house that knows how to setup/build a PC correctly.. In your case I would take it all apart and rebuild it and then format the OS drive and start from scratch and don't use overclocking utilities or Computer professionals software to monitor or alter any settings with it. USE CCC to monitor the temps for now and make sure everything adds up and also check your memory and your Overclock on the CPU .. From the video you showed us to me looks like an unstable system.. So clear the BIOS and set it back up to defaults and test the memory on the motherboard.

Be happy you didn't buy it from me... I would refund you and charge you a re-stocking fee/testing fee and would ask you politely not to use our services again.

I have already tested at friends house. His computer was built by a reliable brand. I have completely rebuilt computer and flashed bioses to latest etc. I got a new cpu cooler. I did use ccc to monitor my temps. I then used afterburner. As far as i am aware afterburner is fine to work with my card. I actually did have artifacts at a couple of points in benchmarks. All my card died for different reasons out of my control. I didnt manage to get to the bit with the artifacts as the card kinda died if you recall. I have built many systems. It just seems to be mine that keeps screwing up.

Not jumping on the "you can't build PCs, stop trying" band-wagon, but the common factor here is you.

You've had an official response from HIS saying to return the card, so why haven't you? If you really do have an official reply from them, show it to overclockers and they should return the card - the manufacture's word surpasses the retailer's at the end of the day. Or if overclockers refuse, send it yourself.

I recall seeing a couple of your threads but I'm too tired to go hunting through them all to find all the details I'm after. The only way your card could be "idling" at such a high temperature would be if the fan was broken, i.e. not spinning at all. That can be simply checked by opening the side of your case while the PC is running. If it's spinning, you can rule that out, if it's not - you have yourself an RMA. But from what you've said that Overclockers returned the card to you when you RMA'd it to them, there seems to be nothing wrong with it.

When they said "they couldn't get it to go over 90 degrees" did you ask them for / did they mention whether that was load or idle? Heck, even at idle no chip should really bit hitting that high, even passively-cooled cards.

As I said in the first paragraph, you seem to be the common factor here - I'd almost put money on the fault being your own at whichever stage the problem comes from.

I have returned the card. I will contact HIS again and make sure that i get a proper reply from them because this reply wasn't very convincing. I did tell OcUK that Hs told me to RMA but their testing is all that matter :(

Had to look PEBCAK up. Thanks (sarcastic). But i truly believe that it is not me. I have not OC'd the card (or anything for that matter) and the product is inherently faulty. HIS said so. I have asked them to clarify that it is a card problem. Will probably RMA all the way to China. :(
