RMA problem. Please please help

Ok the thread is a bit longwinded but still thanks for all the help you have given me. Brief summary of current situation: card heats up too much. Send back to rma. No fault found. Sent back to me. I have the same problem. Manufacterer not replying to emails. Consumer direct says that goods are not fit for purpose and should ask again fir refund. Will wait for HIS to reply and then go to ocuk with evidence. Also am comoaring cards performance to that of an old dell 8800gtx to prove faults.

Are you running dual monitors or single monitor?

The clock speed at idle is 250MHz or 500MHz?

If you're idling at 60c at 250MHz clock then that is too warm and I agree it is not fit for purpose.

I had similar concerns with mine but I'm happy enough with it now.

If you're getting those temps then you can forget about overclocking but everyone else can overclock - therefore imo it's not fit for purpose.

EDIT: Yes you need full test conditions that OcUK did to see if it's a fair test et cetera....

By impartial i meant he wouldnt know what was wron with the card. He has as level IT. qualified? 50% fan gives 70 deg c playing alien swarm.

The fact that he's a friend rules him out of being impartial. I'm kind of lost really as to where you are with it, despite your summery in the post above.

post 47 says you'll get a shop to test it then you get a mate to do it and you want him to write a report, then you say you are borrowing it ? It was sent back to HIS on the 14th and yet you still have it :S

in post 41 you say CCC isnt recognising the card as its DOE from being thrown over a fence post 56 says it was played with by a fox.

Now your playing games on it though.

your opening post says you have massive temps, but post 71 insinuates temps of 60 idle.

Can you start again in chronological order, perhaps with some pics of said temps ? Theres little wonder CS haven't answered you tbh, they've probably died trying to understand what the hell is going on....

OP please save us from this spam-a-thon.

Get in your car and take the card back in person, DEMAND a refund or suitable replacement. Take your rig along and show the shop the fault.

is it me getting old or are other getting fed up of seeing this thread at the top?

It's not just you. I'm starting to get Deja Vu every time I click on a thread in the Graphics Card forum now. It's either a very long, disjointed and contradictory thread about Cleeecooo's problem, or a new, shorter one about exactly the same problem! There must be at least 4-6 threads about this one issue now. :(

@ Cleeecooo - I think we can all agree that you are at an impass now and no amount of posting on here is going to help. You need to bite the bullett, book a day off work, call Overclockers and arrange to go to them. Take your PC so they can see your card in situ running at your high temperatures. Then let them put the card in their system and see it running at the low temperatures they saw during testing. I am sure if you spend the time to sit down with them, they will be able to spot the problem that is causing the difference between the two systems and help you resolve this once and for all.

The forum cannot help you any more, you need to calmly sit face to face with the guys from Overclockers and (I am sure) they will help you work out the problem and fix it. Nothing else will solve this now.
